This Week's News and Reminders
PBIS Updates: "The Madison Way. All Day. Every Day."
The Middle School Staff has spent the last two weeks establishing routines and expectations. We started week one with teaching school-wide expectations. During week two, teachers took time to teach individual classroom lessons around routines and expectations. The goal is for students to have a better understanding of our core values of Respect, Integrity, Ownership, and Safety. These core values help Madison Middle School to establish the positive culture that we want students to be a part of. We use the phrase: "The Madison Way. All Day. Every Day"
The second phase of our PBIS system that was introduced was the Middle School Acknowledgement system. A PBIS Acknowledgement System is how schools recognize and reward students for making good choices and following expectations. Instead of only focusing on misbehavior, this system helps highlight and celebrate the positive things students do every day. At Madison Middle School a teacher that sees a student meeting expectations can give that student a MadMoney ticket. Students that receive the MadMoney ticket will turn it into the office. A drawing will take place every other Friday at the end of the school day. Students whose tickets are drawn will come to the office and be able to choose an item from our snack cart. Our first drawing will take place this Friday.
Middle School CAP
Culture of Achievement Program (CAP) is an intervention to develop successful work habits and provide additional support for increased learning in academics. A student might enroll in the CAP program if he or she meets one or more of the following indicators:
☐ Missing several assignments
☐ Needing organizational assistance

The program will be offered from 2:45 p.m. - 4:20 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
