CAR RIDERS WILL NEED EXTRA TIME IN THE MORNING DROP OFF LINE CAR RIDERS WILL NEED EXTRA TIME IN THE MORNING DROP OFF LINE

On April 29, and 30, THERE ARE NO EARLY BIRD CLASSES.

This means that on these days, there could be an extra 250+ car riders in the drop off line in the morning. These extra car riders significantly impact the traffic pattern and wait time.

Please consider this when preparing on these mornings and allow for extra time!

You many need as much as an extra 15 minutes in order for your child to be "on time" to class.

You can drop students off as early as 7:30--and we suggest you do this in order to avoid a bottleneck at 7:50 or 8:00.

Remember, these are also testing days, so we need all students to arrive to BMS on time. Thank you for your help with this--we appreciate the extra effort! Please reach out with questions or concerns. THANK YOU!

8th grade information/end of year events: 8th grade information/end of year events:

Dear 8th Grade Families,

As we near the end of the 8th-grade year, it’s hard to believe that your student’s time in middle school is coming to a close. This exciting and busy time of year brings many wonderful events, which we’ve outlined below:

8th Grade Recognition Night - May 8, 2025 | 6:00 PM | BMS PAC

The 8th Grade Recognition Night is a special evening to honor students for their outstanding achievements. Invitations to this event will be extended to students who have earned recognition in various categories, including:

  • Power of the Pen

  • Athletic Awards

  • 4.0 GPA Award

  • BMS Courageous & Kind Award

  • Presidential Gold & Silver Awards

Each of these awards has specific criteria for eligibility. The most frequently asked questions tend to focus on the Presidential Awards. To qualify, students must:

  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for their middle school years, and

  • Score Advanced or Accomplished on all 6th and 7th grade Ohio State tests.

Invitations will be mailed home the week of April 7, 2025, and we kindly ask that RSVPs be submitted by April 25, 2025. Should you have any questions about the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the 8th grade office.

For Students NOT Attending Washington, D.C. Trip:

Students who are not participating in the Washington, D.C. trip are still required to attend school on May 27-29, 2025. If your student will not be attending, please call the attendance line at 330-273-0340 (A-L) or 330-273-0350 (M-Z). These students will also have the opportunity to participate in Field Day on May 29, 2025.

It has truly been a pleasure working with your child and collaborating with you throughout their 8th-grade year. I look forward to hearing about their successes as they transition into high school. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Christina Stanovcak

8th Grade Assistant Principal

Field day on the last student day--behavior requirements to participate Field day on the last student day--behavior requirements to participate

We want all of our students to have a great time at our end of the year BMS Field Day! However, this event is a privilege for kids whose behavior has proven they can manage this type of day.

If a student earns an out of school suspension for an inappropriate behavior choice, or multiple days in the CLC as a consequence for inappropriate behavior choices, they will give up their opportunity to participate in our BMS Field Day. This applies to the 4th Quarter.

We want to make this very clear to all of our students--so we are all on the same page regarding the expectations for field day participation. If you have quesitons or concerns, please reach out. Thank you!
