🏫 Welcome Back to School at Moore Elementary! 🎒

Dear Moore Elementary Families,

Welcome to an exciting new school year at Moore Elementary! Whether you are returning to our campus or joining us for the very first time, we are honored to have you as part of our Moore family. A new school year brings new opportunities, new friendships, new challenges, and endless possibilities—and we cannot wait to begin this journey together.

As we open our doors for the 2026–2027 school year, our students will learn new routines, build meaningful relationships, discover new passions, and grow both academically and personally. We hope your family enjoyed a safe and restful summer and are ready for a year filled with learning, celebration, and success.

This year, we are challenging every member of our school community to ARMOR UP.

To us, ARMOR UP means coming to school each day prepared to learn, ready to lead, and determined to give our very best. It means demonstrating resilience when learning becomes difficult, showing kindness and respect to others, taking responsibility for our actions, and believing that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Together, we will build a culture where every student feels safe, supported, valued, and inspired to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Our dedicated staff has worked diligently to prepare engaging classrooms, strengthen instructional practices, and create meaningful learning experiences that challenge every student to reach their highest potential. We remain focused on providing exceptional instruction while developing confident learners, compassionate leaders, and responsible citizens.

Last year, was one of tremendous growth for Moore Elementary. Through the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of our families, we made significant progress toward our state accountability goals. We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together, but we know our best work is still ahead of us.

This year, we will continue to raise the bar by focusing on high expectations, student engagement, meaningful relationships, and academic excellence. Every lesson, every conversation, and every opportunity will be centered on helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe every child can succeed, and together we will continue increasing student achievement while celebrating every step of progress along the way.

None of this is possible without the partnership of our families and community. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for walking alongside us in their educational journey. Your encouragement, involvement, and support are essential to our success. This year and for years to come, Achieving Excellence Together will serve as the Moore Elementary brand and motto. It reflects who we are and what we believe: that when students, staff, families, and our community work together with a shared purpose, every child has the opportunity to succeed. It is our commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, belonging, growth, and continuous improvement in everything we do.

As we begin this exciting new year, we invite every student, staff member, parent, and community partner to ARMOR UP—to embrace challenges with courage, lead with character, support one another with kindness, and strive for excellence every single day. Together, we will build on our successes, celebrate every milestone, and create a school where every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. At Moore Elementary, Achieving Excellence Together is more than a motto, it is our promise, our purpose, and the standard that will guide every decision, every relationship, and every opportunity as we move forward together.

We look forward to an incredible 2026–2027 school year and all that we will accomplish together. Thank you for being part of the Moore Elementary family. Here's to a year of growth, achievement, leadership, and success.

Achieving Excellence Together,

Mrs. Hignight

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival/Tardies/Absences

School hours are from 8:15 AM to 3:35 PM, with doors opening at 7:55 AM. For your child’s safety, please ensure they are not left unattended outside the school building. Staff will not be available to monitor your child, so we ask that your child is not dropped off or waiting anywhere on the campus until 7:55. Students that arrive after 8:15 are considered tardy. At that time, a parent or guardian will need to sign the student in with the front desk receptionist. Attendance is taken at 10:10 a.m. daily. Students who leave school prior to the 10:10 a.m. will be marked absent for the entire day. If your child is absent, please email a note to moore@cfisd.net within 3 days for the absence to be excused.

Dismissal and Early Departure

Dismissal starts at 3:35 PM. If you need to change your child’s transportation, please submit your request in writing to Moore@cfisd.net no later than 2:30 PM. To avoid disrupting dismissal procedures, any students leaving early must be picked up from the front office by 2:55 PM. Please note that any changes with student transportation will not be accepted if an email is sent to your child’s teacher. You must email Moore@cfisd.net in order to make a change. Any change to transportation must be sent to the campus each day there is a transportation change. If your child rotates their mode of transportation on alternating days or weeks, a note each day must be provided to the campus in order for the transportation change to go into effect. We want to make sure that teachers have the most accurate and up to date information on an indvidual green sticker that will be placed on the child each time there is a transportation change submitted to the front office. The person picking up the child must be one of the guardians listed or the person designated in the email and you must include a picture of your license in the email. A student will not be released without a physical ID being shown, we will not accept pictures of ID's on the phone. Please try to have your child keep their same method of transportation at dismissal time. Thank you again for your support with helping us maintain a smooth and safe dismissal for all students.

Club Rewind

Students that are enrolled in Club Rewind may be picked up after Moore dismissal of car riders. This may be at 4:05 PM. Please make sure that you are not in the car rider line to pick up your student from Club Rewind. We want to make sure you are not waiting in a line and then having to be rerouted to the end.

Walkers/Car Riders

If your child is a walker, please meet them at the side of the building closest to where car rider line begins. If your child is a car rider, then you must be in the car to pick up your child. If you choose to park your car on the street or in the neighborhood, then your child needs to be listed as a walker. You can then meet your child at the walker gate. Walkers will be dismissed last in the dismissal rotation in order to prevent students from walking through and around cars. If you choose to not wait on your child, please allow your child to ride the bus. Students will not be released to parents that walk up to the main entrance of the school. Any student that is listed as a car rider will be released to the driver in their vehicle. We ask that parents do not get out of their cars to open the door for their child. This can slow down the car rider line, causing unnecessary traffic on the main street. If you do not have a car rider tag, please give your name and students name to the staff member with your drivers license. If you are sending someone other than yourself, please follow the email procedures. You will be asked to pull forward and park if we need to retrieve your child. This will help the flow of the car rider line.

Attendance matters to us - everyday of learning counts. Pleae make sure your child is in his/her classroom before 10:10 AM daily, unless of course they are sick. We will be recognizing classes with the highest % of attendance each nine weeks with different prizes. Did you know that a factor in our federal funding actually comes from our daily attendance percentage?

Deliveries Deliveries

We want to provide the best customer service possible at Moore. We do know that students may forget items left at home. If you bring that item to school we make every effort to get it delivered to your child, however, the only items that will be accepted are medication, glasses, and laptops. Just please know, it may take some time before we are able to get it back to the classroom. We are not accepting lunch drop offs as we do not have the staff to make lunch deliveries throughout the day. We will also not accept any food deliveries from Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc. Please do not worry as we will make sure your child does not go without a lunch. They can still get a lunch from the cafeteria. If you want to bring your child their lunch, you can come during their lunch time and deliver it to them. We have limited lunch visitors to one parent/guardian a week so that all parents or guardians have an opportunity to come to lunch. Lunch visitors for the 26-27 school year will begin Monday, September 28, 2026.

The campus can not accept any flowers, food, or gift deliveries for students.

School Safety School Safety

Safety is a top priority at Moore Elementary. We follow all safety protocols and will ensure that your child is in safe hands. We do ask that any parent, guardian, sibling, or other caregiver waits for their student in the designated area during arrival and dismissal. During arrival and dismissal, the front entry way to the building must be clear so that all students can exit the building in a safe, orderly fashion. Only Moore staff will be present and staff will assist students with making their way to their cars. We want to ensure that our students can hear instructions and that there are not any adults in their line of contact, other than staff members, so they can make it to their car. We appreciate your assistance with this.

Students riding bikes can continue to use the bike racks that are located at the front of the building. Please make sure that your child locks their bike to ensure it is safe throughout the day. We do ask that parents do not ride their bikes to the front of the school to the bike rack. This walkway and bike rack area is designated for students only. As a campus, we want to make sure that there is ample room for all of our walkers and bike riders to make their way safely to the front of the school.

All students and staff will participate in campuswide safety drills. Please see the letter below for more information. All drills will be conducted according to the Standard Response Protocols that are adopted by Cypress Fairbanks ISD. If you have questions, please don't hesistate to reach out to the campus.

Student birthdays on the marquee can be purchased via SchoolCash. We can schedule birthdays that occur over breaks and over the summer when purchased in advance. This is a fun way to recognize your child's birthday! The graphic will be on the marquee as part of the rotating graphics. It will post the day of their birthday and remain in rotation for 4 days. It will have their first name and the first initial of their last name and will not include any special messages. The cost is $20 and all funds support PBIS. This will begin August 18, 2026. The reports will be pulled every week on Friday morning. Please ensure you have submitted your request the Friday before your students birthday. The last day to submit any birthday requests for this school year will be Thursday, May 6th. The final report will be pulled on Friday, May 7th so please make sure all May, June, July and August birthdays have been submitted.
