A Letter From the Principal

Dear Families,

We hope you enjoyed a nice long break from school! We have a little more than three weeks of school before our winter break. Speaking of winter, it is officially cold outside. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather. We follow the National Weather Service created wind chill cart when determining if there is inside recess. Basically, if the feels like the temperature is -14 degrees or colder we will be keeping the students inside for recess. Please make sure your children have snow pants, winter boots, warm jackets, gloves and winter hats. They will need it for the winter. Please also write your child’s name on all of their snow gear. Black snow pants are very popular, so it is very helpful to have a name on it.

We will bring in students before school if it feels like the temperature is 5 degrees or colder.

Please let the office know if you need help with any of the required winter gear.

Hello 4th & 5th grade families! It's never too late to think about middle school. Huntley, Appleton Bilingual School, Edison and Franklin elementary students attend Kaleidoscope Academy for middle school. Although all families have to apply to attend Kaleidoscope, families from these select elementary schools are guaranteed a spot. We are a hands-on, fine-arts, and project-based middle school that emphasizes student choice, expanded elective course offerings, focusing on the whole child, and a strong teaming structure.
