News and Notes
IB Students of the Month
Each month we will recognize students who are embodying one of the character traits from the IB learner profile (nominated by one of their teachers). The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB schools.
December's Trait: Caring
From the learner profile: “We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.”
Congratulations to our students who were nominated for the month of December!
Correction: Due to Basketball games, Friday night's performance will start at 8pm.
Tickets are available at the door or in the Webstore.
Raptor Family Support
As we approach the holiday season we are wanting to get a gauge on how to best support our community. If your family is in need of support please take a few minutes to fill out this short form. Our school counselor will be connecting to families that submit a response by December 12th.
KGW Great Toy Drive
When we return from the Thanksgiving break, Riverside will be collecting toys for the KGW Great Toy Drive in a graduation class competition. The Leadership class hopes with your participation, this drive can become a lasting tradition here at RHS. Here are three ways you can help:
From December 1-12, please bring new, unwrapped toys to donate. KGW has requested toys for ages 0-2 and 13-18, plus creative or educational toys. The graduation class with the highest percentage of toys to students will win a pizza party.
Follow this link to donate money to Riverside’s toy drive. This money will be combined with the money raised through the Penny Wars to purchase additional toys to donate.
Bring spare change to school for the Penny Wars. All pennies are positive points, while all other coins are negative points. Which class will earn the most points and how much money will be raised for the toy drive? Bring your coins to help tip the scales!
Join Leadership in supporting more than 150 non-profits that rely on the KGW Great Toy Drive to bring joy to local children and families.
We are looking for science fair judges!
The CREST-Jane Goodall Science Symposium is the district-wide science fair, affiliated with the Northwest Science Expo (NWSE) and the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF). Each year, hundreds of WLWV High School and Middle School students engage in active scientific inquiry by developing independent research projects. Do you have an educational or professional background in science, technology, engineering or mathematics? Are you interested in inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers? We would love for you to join the fun as a judge! We are looking for judges who are available on March 11, 2026, at Wilsonville High School for the full day. FAFSA
If your student is planning on attending either a 2 year or 4 year college next year, it's time to complete the FAFSA.
Students attending a 4 year college will need to complete the FAFSA before you know what financial aid you are eligible for and the actual cost of attending a school they've been accepted.
For students attending a 2 year college, the FAFSA needs to be completed to know the cost of attending the school and is a requirement to complete before being eligible for Oregon Promise.
If you need help, you can get help directly from FAFSA.
