Get To Know A PISD Librarian

I love connecting with the students and sharing my joy of reading while looking for fun ways for them to encourage giving reading a chance.

My favorite genres are adventure/mystery. I love a thrilling read, whether it's solving a mystery or fighting to overcome insurmountable forces.

I have always loved books and libraries. As a little girl I would bug my two older sisters to read to me nonstop and they did. They would also accompany me to the library countless times during the summer. So, I guess my sisters inspired me.

My favorite hobbies are reading, traveling, and spending time with family & friends.

3 things that I would like to achieve personally or professionally one day are:

1. To ignite a love for reading and create a rich culture of reading for our school.

2. To visit each continent.

3. To have a vacation home in another country.

I dropped out of school the second semester of my senior year to get married. After being a young bride I realized I would need an education to better provide for my family, so I got my GED and eventually began college and here I am today with a graduate degree and a career that I love.

Something you might not know about me is, I was a Vanguard school dropout who had no visions of what I could personally achieve. Look at me now!
