Summer Discovery Family Survey!! Summer Discovery Family Survey!!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for sharing your child with us during this year's Summer Discovery Program! We loved taking learning outside the regular school year to explore hands-on STEM activities, strengthen literacy skills, and venture out on field trips.

Our goal is to make every summer better than the last, and your feedback is part of that process.

Please take 2–3 minutes to fill out our quick survey. Your insights directly impact how we plan, fund, and structure future summer programming for Meramec Valley R-III students.

A Summer Well Spent A Summer Well Spent

What to Know for the week ahead:

What to Know for the week ahead:

It's hard to believe that Summer Discovery is coming to an end. What started just a few weeks ago with new routines, new classmates, and a little uncertainty has grown into a summer filled with learning, friendship, confidence, and countless memories.

Celebrating the Journey

Over the past several weeks, we have watched students try new things, build relationships, strengthen skills, and grow in ways both big and small. Every smile, accomplishment, challenge overcome, and act of kindness has helped make this summer special.

Reflecting on the Memories

As we enjoy these final two days together, we encourage families to take a moment to reflect on all that their child has experienced this summer.

Ask Your Child:

• What was your favorite Summer Discovery memory?

• What is something new you learned?

• Who helped make your summer special?

• What are you most proud of?

Thank You

Thank you for sharing part of your summer with us. Your partnership, encouragement, and support have helped make Summer Discovery a positive and meaningful experience for our students.

We are incredibly proud of all our students have accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to be part of their summer journey.

Until Next Time...

While Summer Discovery may be ending, the confidence, friendships, memories, and learning will continue long after these final two days.

Thank you for helping make Summer Discovery 2026 a success!

We hope the rest of your summer is filled with fun, family, relaxation, and new adventures!

School Hours:

  • Grades K-4, Elementary Schools: 8:35am - 3:40pm
  • Attendance popsicle parties will be held weekly for students with 100% attendance

Attendance Matters

Our ability to offer this program at no cost to families depends on the attendance rate we report to the state. Therefore, your child's consistent attendance is very important. To encourage this, we will hold surprise extra recess days with classes that have 100% attendance as well as popsicle parties for students with 100% attendance weekly.

Transportation

MVR-III will use the BusRight Parent App to communicate bus routes and times to parents. BusRight is a FREE parent app to allow parents to, in real-time, follow their child's bus route to and from school, receive notifications when the bus begins and ends its route, view the expected arrival time at their child's designated bus stop, and receive communication from the Transportation Department.

To access BusRight, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the App: Download the BusRight app from your mobile device's app store.
  2. Create an Account: Use your Infinite Campus email address to create a login.
  3. Track Your Student: Begin tracking your child's bus routes immediately.

If you have issues creating your account, you will need to verify with your school building office that you are listed as the primary guardian in Infinite Campus. Find out more on BusRight on the District website under Transportation.

Summer Discovery Communication

Parents are encouraged to download the FREE MVR-III School District mobile app to streamline school communication on the go. Find the Meramec Valley R-III School District app in the Apple App or Google Play Store. Be sure to select notifications from your preferred buildings and enable Push Notifications on your phone settings. Teachers will use the Rooms link inside the MVR-III app to communicate directly with parents.

Rooms makes it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class information from that same app. You can easily switch from district and school information in the app to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes and engage directly with teachers.

Rooms can be accessed via the web (at edurooms.com) and from our district app, which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.

Summer Meal Program

MVR-III has once again been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to offer free breakfast and lunch throughout the summer months. This wonderful opportunity is available to all children in our community who are 18 years of age or younger, as well as all students enrolled in our summer school programs and the School Age Child Care (SACC) program.

Behavior Expectations

To ensure a caring and productive learning environment for all students, we have established clear expectations for behavior during Summer Discovery. These expectations focus on creating safe, respectful, and engaging spaces where everyone can thrive.

We believe in guiding students to make positive choices. When a student's behavior is unsafe, interferes with learning, or demonstrates a lack of respect, we will partner with parents to address the situation collaboratively. Our approach involves a tiered system of support. If a student requires support from the office on three occasions due to behaviors that do not align with our expectations and student handbook, the student will be dismissed from the program after the third discipline report. Our goal is to work together to ensure a successful and beneficial experience for every student.

To maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, Coleman Elementary will follow this three-step behavior protocol during Summer Discovery:

Strike 1 –

  • The teacher and student will review expectations together.
  • Parents will be notified by the teacher.

Strike 2 –

  • The teacher and administrator will meet with the student to revisit expectations.
  • Parents will be contacted by the administrator.

Strike 3 –

  • The student will be removed from the classroom.
  • After a review with the administrator, parents will be notified, and the student will not be permitted to return for the remainder of the summer session.

Our goal is always to partner with families to help students succeed.

Thank you for your support in creating a positive experience for everyone

2026-27 Kindergarten Registration 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration

Dear MVR-III Families,

Kindergarten registration IS OPEN!!

Because you are an existing family within the district, this will be completed through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Watch this IC online registration video for a preview.

If you do not have your Infinite Campus Parent Portal set up, please contact your school building secretary for assistance. You will be provided a KEY, which can be entered on this Infinite Campus-New User webpage to create your account.

To make the process as easy and efficient as possible for families, the district has streamlined registration so you can take care of several important tasks at the same time.

Through a single login in Infinite Campus, you can confirm information for all students in your household, which will complete your:

  • required Annual Update,
  • register your child for kindergarten (if applicable),
  • and enroll K–8 students in 2026 Summer Discovery.

Completing all three tasks at once saves time and eliminates the need to complete separate registrations.

***An email from the district was sent out with exact directions - if you did not receive it but would like me to send it your way please reach out to me or our school office!***
