Fall Band News
OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2025
FUNDRAISER KICKOFF - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22
Every student needs to set up their personal fundraiser account at home and enter 25 phone contacts before Oct. 22. You have to use a cell phone number (NO Emails) to receive a text message on your phone to complete the set-up process. If you set up an account last year, please try to add 5 additional new contacts to your list. Please follow the instructions here:
Students need to make sure they have their Chromebook at school on Oct. 22.
Fundraising is crucial for the success of our band. Money raised can be used for student transportation, offset the cost of our spring trip, purchase of new instruments (needed for the growth of our program), instrument repair (desperately needed), clinicians, new music, etc.
Our goal is $30,000! "One Team, All In!"

BAND PICTURES - THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13
SPURS PERFORMANCE - THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20
This trip is optional. We realize there is also an MVMS soccer game and girls basketball the same evening. Coach Sierra said that students will be able to choose which event they would like to do. There will be no penalty for athletes that choose to attend the Spurs game. The coaches realize this is a once- (or twice)-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
There is no cost to the students! The school will order seats for band students that plan to attend and will also order seats for a pre-determined number of chaperones. We will not be able to add additional tickets at a later date to sit with our group. I need to have confirmation of attendance/participation in this event by October 24. Here is the form. Please complete it no later than October 24.
Parents, you may use this link to purchase tickets to sit in any section of your choice. Students will be allowed to sit with you (if you pay and reserve their seat ticket) after their pre-game performance. Please use our official ticket link, and do not purchase tickets from another site. This ensures our school gets the credit for ticket sales. Be advised that ticket prices may be higher 2 weeks prior to the event.
We hope for this to be a fun-filled, family night of entertainment. More details coming soon!
PURCHASE A BAND HOODIE BY OCT. 30!
An ONLINE STORE has been opened for anyone that would like to purchase a Hawk Band Hoodie. They are soft, they are warm, and you will be vibing in your new 'fit. Students are not required to purchase a hoodie, but they will be allowed to wear them while marching in the Sattler Christmas Parade. This is not a fundraiser. You are paying the actual cost of what the company charges. It has been two years since we last made hoodies available. We cannot re-open the store after October 30, so be sure to get your order in BEFORE 11:59PM on OCTOBER 30! Hoodies are supposed to arrive before Thanksgiving break - just in time for the cooler weather!
PRACTICE MAKES BETTER!
When you practice, you get better! -> When you're better, you have more fun! -> When you have more fun, you want to practice more! -> When you practice, you get better! (etc.)
"BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PRACTICE!"
If you have time to eat, you have time to practice. When I was working on my Master's Degree last year while teaching full-time, I would practice during every 5-minute passing period. You have to find time to practice. That is the only homework for band.
The band hall is open for practice Tuesday-Friday (before school) and Monday-Thursday (after school). Always check with a band director first to make sure we will be available after school and not at a meeting. We can also be available Friday afternoons if requested.
