A Note from Mrs. Phillips...

Dear FC Parents and Friends,

We had a wonderful October, filled with many great things. I want to personally thank all of our parents for attending conferences. The home-school connection is such an important part of your child's academic success. Thank you!

A huge shout-out to our amazing PTO and all of the sponsors who helped make our Fayette Central Carnival such a success! Because of your generous support, we raised nearly $4,000 for our school. We can’t thank you enough for your continued dedication to our students and staff.

Veterans Day Program – November 13 @ 8:30AM

We are honored to celebrate our Veterans during our annual Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 8:30 AM. Our 6th graders will take the stage for their final performance as Hornets, and we invite all Veterans and 6th grade parents to join us for this special event.

After the program, Veterans and special guests are welcome to enjoy donuts and coffee, followed by a visit to our Scholastic Book Fair (open to special guests from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM).

A heartfelt thank you to Miss Corum for preparing our students for this meaningful performance!

📚 Scholastic Book Fair

The Book Fair will be open all week long for students to shop during the school day!

  • Parent Night: Tuesday, November 10th from 3:00–6:00 PM

  • Veterans & Special Guests: Friday, November 13, from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

It’s a great time to find books your child will love while supporting our school library!

🥫 LSP Food Pantry Drive

During November, we’re collecting items to support the LSP Food Pantry.
Fayette Central students are encouraged to bring in:

  • Boxed or instant potatoes

  • Any kind of gravy

  • Macaroni and cheese

  • Spaghetti sauce and noodles

Our K-Kids will help organize and deliver donations to the pantry. Thank you for helping us give back to our community this holiday season!

🧡 Thanksgiving Break

School will be closed November 25-27th for Thanksgiving Break.
We hope your family enjoys time together to rest, reflect, and show gratitude for the special people in your lives.

📊 ILEARN Checkpoint 1 Results

Below is a look at our ILEARN Checkpoint 1 results for grades 3–6. While Fayette Central has completed testing, the statewide testing window remains open through November 13, so state percentages may change slightly as additional results are reported. In the graphs below, the green bars represent Fayette Central, while the gray bars represent the state.

We are proud of the hard work our students and teachers continue to put into learning! Our Math results show strong performance, with Fayette Central outperforming the state in three of four grade levels. In Reading, our results highlight opportunities for growth across grades 3–6. Reading remains a priority, and our teachers will continue using assessment data to identify individual student needs, strengthen instruction, and provide targeted support during WIN time. We look forward to building on our successes and monitoring student growth throughout the year!

I wish you a blessed November,

Mrs. Phillips

Title I Literacy Night Slideshow Title I Literacy Night Slideshow

For families who were unable to attend our Literacy Night, I would like to share the slideshow presented that evening. The presentation includes important information about literacy instruction, as well as IREAD information specifically for parents of students in grades 2 and 3. It is especially important for families to understand Indiana’s third-grade retention requirements and how they may impact students.

I hope this presentation helps answer your questions and provides a better understanding of these important topics. If you have additional questions or need clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or me. We are always happy to help and want to ensure every family feels informed and supported!
