Dear Altamont Creek Families,

We are SO excited to welcome your children back onto campus Wednesday, August 12th! We would like to share some ways to be "first day ready:"

-Gate to the blacktop will open at 8:15AM. At 8:27AM the bell rings. Grades TK/K will line up on the blacktop in their designated spot. Students & families in Grades 1-5 may walk to their classroom door.

STARTING THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH: At 8:27AM the bell rings. Grades TK/K will line up on the blacktop in their designated spot. Students in Grades 1-5 will walk straight to their classroom. We will have a lot of staff out on the whitetop to ensure your children make it to the right class.

-Make sure your child knows where their classroom is located. Below you will find a site map.

-Have a "pick up location." We are HIGHLY encouraging walkers/bikers. If you are picking up your child in the drive through, please stay in your car and continue forward until you see your child. Do NOT park in the drive through.

-Bring snack & reusable water bottle.

-No recess equipment/balls from home. We have plenty of options for students at recess.

Together we will make this year GREAT!!

First Week Dismissal Times

Please see dismissal times for the first week listed below:

Wednesday, August 12th: 1:30 dismissal (TK-5) * Every Wednesday dismissal time

Thursday August 13th: 1:30 dismissal (TK-5)

Friday, August 14th: 1:30 dismissal (TK-5)

Starting Monday, August 17th

TK/K- 1:30 dismissal / 1-5th grade- 2:50 dismissal

As we transition into a new school year, we need "all hands on deck," especially while we establish lunch time routines.

Altamont Creek Elementary is looking for several adult volunteers to become part of our Lunch Bunch. These volunteers will help assist and supervise students during their lunch break. Please sign up for as few or as many time slots as you are able. We appreciate all the help!

Thank you to those who were able to attend the New Family Orientation. If you missed it, don't fret! You can view the presentation HERE.

It pays to get chromebook insurance! Here are the new costs for repairs according to the handbook. Please note that replacement is up to $498.

Estimated costs/fees are listed below and subject to change.
○ Charger/Adapter $35.
○ LCD/Screen $35.
○ Keyboard/Touchpad $40.
○ Bezel $35.
○ Cover $40.
○ Hinges $6 per set
○ Damages not to exceed $498. or the current cost of a new Chromebook

This year again we will be offering "Breakfast & Books" in the MPR daily from 8:00-8:20am to all students. This Breakfast and Books time will be spent eating breakfast, followed by reading or engaging independently with other learning/studying. Chromebooks are not allowed during this time.

In order to remain compliant with both federal and state regulations for the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs and the California Universal Meal Program, we ask that all families verify their household eligibility.

Drop Off

• The school gates will open at 8:15AM.
• Families are invited onto the blacktop to stay with their child until the bell rings. Families are encouraged to walk the track. Playground and equipment will not be available.
• At 8:27AM the bell rings. Grades TK/K will line up. Students in Grades 1-5 will walk straight to their classroom.

In an effort to increase efficiency of drop off we have several options for families!

1 – Bike Riders/Scooter Riders – Please remind your Wildcats to ALWAYS walk their bike/scooter when they arrive on campus. They may safely keep their bikes/scooters in the bike park area in front of the school.

2 – Walkers/Walking Buses – We HIGHLY encourage our students to walk to school. It promotes health and is great for our environment. Please arrange a meeting space to meet your child after school. The field is a great place to quickly meet your Wildcat right after school.

3 – Valet - We will have ONE valet drop off lane.

******ALL CARS ENTERING ACE MUST TURN RIGHT INTO THE PARKING LOT – NO LEFT TURNS!******

After you pull into the driveway, stay on the inside lane and safely pull all the way forward. Once the car has safely stopped, your child may exit through the passenger side and onto the sidewalk. They will walk toward the big gates and enter the blacktop until the 8:27AM bell.

Pick Up

- All parents must stay inside their cars. Students must be able to get out of the car independently.

-All students must exit through the passenger side of the car and immediately and proceed to the gate.

- Students will not be marked tardy for the first few weeks, as we tighten up our procedures.

TK/Kinders will be picked up by their parents at flag pole: Please look for the sign with your teachers name on it on the front gates. Your child will come out that gate.

1st Graders picked up by their parents at flag pole: Please look for the sign with your teachers name on it on the front gates. Your child will come out that gate. *You may also choose Valet.

1st – 5th Graders that are being picked up through Valet will proceed to the the front of the school and wait on the curb for their ride.
