Caldwell Connection
October 2025
A Message from the Principal
Hello Caldwell Families,
October is here, and we have an exciting month full of activities ahead! This month, we’ll enjoy events like our Fall Fling, Red Ribbon dress-up days, the Book Character Parade, and Picture Day. While there’s so much fun to look forward to, we also know this time of year can bring some fatigue for both students and teachers.
As a community, it’s more important than ever to support each other and nurture the social and emotional well-being of everyone at our school. Please take a few moments each day to check in with your child about how school is going and find ways to encourage and support them. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher—letting them know you appreciate their dedication can make a big difference.
You can share your gratitude by submitting a teacher shout-out for the Caldwell Connection. Just click the button below to tell us why you love a teacher or staff member at CWES. Your kind words will be featured in the next edition of the Caldwell Connection!
This month, teachers are scheduling a parent-teacher conference for every student. Please be on the lookout for information coming home soon, and we encourage you to sign up. These conferences are a great opportunity to receive important updates about your child’s progress and ways to support their success.
Be sure to stay up to date on all the important news and events at CWES by reading the details below. As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if there’s anything we can do to support your family.

Staff Shout Outs
To: Rebecca Saucedo- I want to say, thank you for everything to do specially because she has smiles for every little kid. My son loves her. She always works hard for her students and tries to be the best teacher. Every morning she ask my son if he has eaten breakfast already. From: Mrs. Alvarado
Caldwell Den System
- This Friday, October 3rd, we will hold our Family Den Rally from 7:45am-8:15am. The rally will be held outside behind the gym, near the large playground. Parents will have a separate area to watch and participate so you are not required to sign in at the front office. If you are able to attend, be sure to wear your Den colors! Caldwell PTO will sell Den shirts and stickers before the Family Den Rally on 10/3.
- All Dens have reached 4,000 points which means we have earned a Pajama Day!! Next Friday, October 10th all students and staff can wear pajamas to school.
- Remember that you can use the RCA House Points App to track your student's points. This is a great way to have conversations with them about the great things they are doing at school. If you are new to the Den System this year, be on the look out for a letter coming home this week that gives you information for setting up your account.
- Below are the current Den standings. Way to go Caspian for being in 1st place! The others are not far behind! Trinil was in first place at the last Den Rally...who will win this week?!?
Caspian: Red and Black
Trinil: Purple and Silver
Javan: Green and Yellow
Bali: Orange and Blue

Zearn Lab
We are excited to share a new opportunity to support your child's math learning and help meet our district goals! Starting Monday, October 6th, we will be launching a Zearn Lab on the stage in the cafeteria.
The Zearn Lab is a special space where students can work on the Zearn math software to complete lessons that build important math skills. Our goal is for every student in grades K-5 to complete at least 2 Zearn lessons per week. Students will have the chance to visit the lab during lunch only if they finish eating early. Please be assured that making sure students have enough time to eat is our top priority—students will never be asked to work on Zearn instead of eating their lunch.
Additionally, students are always welcome to eat with any parent or family member who comes to join them for lunch, and the Zearn Lab will never interfere with this special time.
In addition to the Zearn Lab at school, students can also practice their lessons from home, allowing them to continue building skills beyond the school day.
To make it fun, we will be holding a school-wide competition with prizes for classes that complete the most lessons each week. We hope this will encourage all students to stay motivated and excited about learning math.
We are grateful to Ms. Reynolds, who will be leading this initiative and supporting students in the Zearn Lab.
Thank you for your support in helping your child take full advantage of this wonderful learning opportunity. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

School Report Card
Below you will find information about accessing a copy of the State of Texas 2023 School Report Card for Caldwell Elementary. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), College, Career, and Military Readiness, as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.
Due to judicial proceedings, the release of the 2023 School Report Card was significantly delayed. Alongside our 2023 School Report Card, we encourage you to visit TXschools.gov to learn more about our school’s performance in the 2024-2025 school year.
State law requires that the school report card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.
The School Report Cards can be found online at TEA School Report Card.
A more complete report about Caldwell Elementary, the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), is available by contacting my office or can be accessed online at Texas Academic Report Cards.
Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this report card. Thank you for your continued support of Caldwell Elementary.
