π i-Ready Beginning-of-Year Diagnostic
We will continue our Beginning-of-Year i-Ready Diagnostic testing, and this time our students will be completing the Reading Diagnostic.
This assessment gives us valuable information about each student's current reading skills, including what they already know, where they may need additional support, and what they are ready to learn next. Teachers will use these results to plan instruction, provide targeted support, and set individual learning goals for students.
β€οΈ We need your help! Please make every effort to ensure your child:
β° Arrives at school on time
π« Is in attendance each day of testing
π Remains at school for the full school day
π΄ Gets a good night's sleep
β Is encouraged to take their time and do their very best
The i-Ready Diagnostic is not a grade. What matters most is that students give their best effort so we have an accurate picture of their reading strengths and needs.
The information we gather helps us make sure we are providing the right instruction and support for every student from the very beginning of the year.
Thank you for helping us make every instructional day count! πΎ

π§Έ Bring a favorite stuffed animal to school
π Participate in our Stuffed Animal Parade on September 4!
Every school day matters, and being here each day helps our students learn, grow, and stay on track.
Help your child earn their spot in the parade by making attendance and being on time a priority every day! π€
π£ Moye Families β Every Day Counts! ππΎ
Every dayβand every minuteβat school matters! Our campus attendance goal is 95%, and we need your partnership to help our students be at school, on time, and here for the full school day.
β οΈ Did you know about the 90% Rule?
Texas law requires students to attend at least 90% of the days a class is offered in order to receive credit or a final grade for that class. This requirement can apply even when absences are excused.
That means frequent absences, late arrivals, and leaving school early can add up to valuable instructional time missed.
β€οΈ Right Here. Right Now.
Showing up means more than being marked present. It means being right here, right now for the learning, friendships, celebrations, and experiences that make the school years successful and unforgettable.
π And we want to celebrate great attendance! Throughout the school year, we will continue to have monthly attendance incentives that our students can participate in. Each month will bring another opportunity for students to be recognized and enjoy something special for making attendance a priority!
Help us build strong attendance habits:
β° On time.
π« Every day.
π All day.
Together, letβs reach 95% attendance, celebrate our students, and make every day count! πͺπ πΎ

π Learning & Growth at Moye STEM Academy
πΎ Our Academic Goals for Every Moye Student
At Moye STEM Academy, we are focused on building strong foundations in the early grades and continuing that growth all the way through 5th grade.
π Kinderβ2nd Grade | Building Strong Readers
Strong readers start with strong foundations! Our Kβ2 students will receive daily small-group reading instruction based on their individual needs and progress. We will closely monitor their growth throughout the year to make sure they are developing the skills they need to be successful readers.
π£οΈ English Language Growth | Kinderβ5th Grade
For our students learning English, our goal is for every child to grow in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. These skills will be intentionally practiced throughout the school day, with an especially strong focus in the early grades.
β Grades 3β5 | STAAR Success
Our goal is to move every student toward Meets and Masters on STAAR. Teachers will provide strong daily instruction, targeted support when students need it, and closely monitor progress throughout the year.
β€οΈ Families are an important part of this work!
Read with your child, ask about what they are learning, practice skills at home, and celebrate their progress.
Stronger Instruction. Better Outcomes. Every Student. πΎ
πΎ What You Can Expect in Every Moye Classroom
Every minute of instruction matters. When your child walks into a classroom at Moye STEM Academy, you can expect learning to be purposeful, engaging, and focused on student growth.
π― Clear Learning Goals β Students should know what they are learning and what success looks like.
πββοΈ Active Learning β Students won't just sit and listen. They will think, talk, write, solve, create, and actively participate in their learning.
𧩠Support for Every Learner β Teachers will adjust instruction and provide additional support or challenge based on what each student needs.
π Checking for Understanding β Teachers will continuously check student learning during lessons so they can respond when students need additional help or are ready to move forward.
π Students Knowing Their Growth β Students will track their own progress and have one-on-one conversations with their teachers about their goals, growth, and next steps.
Most importantly, the work students complete each day should have a clear purpose and move them closer to mastering what they are learning.
Our instructional time is valuable, and we are committed to making every minute count.
Stronger Instruction. Better Outcomes. Every Student. πΎ
π’ Moye Families, Stay Informed!
EPISD has shared information regarding the proposed 2026 Bond, and I encourage all of our families to take some time to learn more about what is being proposed.
π Visit the EPISD 2026 Bond webpage:
https://www.episd.org/o/episd/page/2026-bond
I also encourage you to review the attached document, which provides information about what the proposed bond with no increase in the tax rate would provide specifically for Moye.
Being informed is important, and we want our families to have access to the information they need to understand what is being proposed and how it could impact our school community. π
