A note from the principal A note from the principal

Thank you for your support!

As we wrap up a great first trimester, we want to thank you for your partnership and support. We are so grateful for our OMS students and families and all the ways you show up for our school community each day. We hope you have a safe, restful November break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!

At Osseo Middle School, we know that learning is strongest when schools and families work together. If your child needs additional support, our Student Services Department is here to help with academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Please reach out at any time—whether it’s a question, a concern, or simply wanting to talk through how things are going.

The district also provides a wide range of community resources, including food support, housing, health services, mental health, and family assistance.

We are grateful to partner with you and remain committed to making every student feel seen, safe, and supported at OMS.

New Attendance Boundaries 2026-2027 New Attendance Boundaries 2026-2027

Exciting changes are coming to our district! With addition of Aspen Ridge Elementary school fall of 2026, elementary and middle school attendance boundaries will see some shifts. While the 2025-26 school year is still young, Osseo Area Schools is already making preparations for a smooth transition to new attendance boundaries at the elementary and middle school levels for the fall of 2026. Families can double-check whether or not their household is impacted by using the 2026-27 search tool available via osseoschools.org/boundaries.

Families who have students impacted by next fall's attendance boundary changes recently received a letter with information about their new school and other pertinent details.

Families with 2026-27 fifth and eighth graders have been asked whether or not they’d like to utilize a Remain in Place option, where they could stay their final year at their current school with family-provided transportation. Eligible families (those with fifth and eighth graders next year) need to share their response to this option by Dec. 22 via a ParentVUE form.

Our very own Matthew Sprout was one of The Park Center Pirates who took home the state championship last weekend in the Minnesota State High School League adapted soccer tournament (PI). This team is comprised of athletes from all district high schools. Huge congratulations to the Pirates on their amazing season and state tournament win!

Nurse Healy’s Health Office Update Nurse Healy’s Health Office Update

It’s Fall Y’all

It’s officially Fall, which means it’s cold and flu season. It’s a great time to get those Flu and COVID shots. Many retail stores even offer incentives to get them!

Just a friendly reminder to keep your student home if they are ill, they can return to school when:

  • They are fever free (less than 100.4) for 24 hours without medicine (Tylenol, Advil etc.)

  • They are well enough to participate in learning (cough is stable or improving and not disruptive to the learning environment)

Tips to stay healthy:

  • Cover your cough

  • Wash your hands frequently but especially before eating

  • Drink lots of water, your body needs to be hydrated to function at its best

In other very exciting news, the Health Office is a busy place and OMS is officially getting a second Nurse. Please help me in welcoming Nurse Nina to OMS. She actually is a past student of OMS. She has worked in the hospital in the NICU for several years and has two kids in Osseo Area Schools. We are lucky to have her!
