From the Principal's Desk

As we continue to move through the final stretch of the school year, there is a great deal to celebrate here at Keyport High School. The past few weeks have been filled with memorable events, important accomplishments, and many moments that reflect the pride and spirit of our Red Raider community.

Our Junior/Senior Prom was a tremendous success. It was wonderful to see our students enjoy a fun, safe, and memorable evening together. Thank you to our advisors, chaperones, staff members, and families who helped make the night such a positive experience for our students.

We are also excited to officially wrap up this year’s state and advanced placement testing season. I want to commend our students and staff for the hard work, preparation, and focus that went into the testing process. The effort and commitment shown throughout the year continue to make us proud.

As we look ahead, graduation is quickly approaching, along with several special events that celebrate the achievements of our students and serve as highlights of the school year. These occasions provide an opportunity to recognize the dedication, leadership, academic success, and personal growth of so many outstanding students.

Final exams are also right around the corner. Please see the letter linked below the full Final Exam schedule. Seniors will begin exams first as they prepare for graduation, followed by underclassmen exams shortly after. We encourage all students to stay focused, finish strong academically, and take advantage of extra help opportunities as we close out the year.

This time of year always serves as a reminder of how quickly the school year moves and how much our students accomplish along the way. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Keyport High School and our students.

Go Red Raiders!

Student Government Spreads Gratitude During Teacher Appreciation Week

A special thank you to the Keyport Student Government for helping make Teacher Appreciation Week so meaningful. Students created a thoughtful “Notes of Gratitude” bulletin board filled with messages recognizing the hard work, dedication, and support of our teachers across all subject areas. The display served as a wonderful reminder of the positive impact our staff members make each day.

A special shoutout goes to Jenna O’Brien for her hard work and leadership in helping organize this effort. Thank you to all of the students who took the time to share their appreciation and celebrate the amazing educators at KHS!

Things Are Growing in Culinary Arts!

Exciting things are growing in the Culinary Arts classroom as students begin exploring indoor hydroponic gardening! Using a vertical growing system, students will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture, plant growth, and farm-to-table concepts right inside the classroom.

This hands-on experience allows students to connect culinary skills with science, sustainability, and healthy food practices while watching their plants grow from seed to harvest. We cannot wait to see how this project continues to develop and how students incorporate fresh ingredients into their culinary experiences.

Taking Care of Your Mental Wellness

As the school year becomes busier with testing, projects, athletics, and end-of-year events, it is important for students to prioritize their mental wellness. Taking time to manage stress, stay organized, and maintain healthy routines can make a significant difference in overall well-being. Simple habits such as getting enough sleep, taking breaks from screens, staying active, and spending time with supportive friends and family can help students stay balanced during stressful times.

Students are also encouraged to check in with themselves and others, remembering that asking for help is a sign of strength. Whether through trusted teachers, counselors, coaches, friends, or family members, support is always available. At Keyport High School, we remain committed to supporting the social-emotional well-being of our students and creating a school environment where everyone feels connected, supported, and valued.

Attendance Matters: Every Day Builds Momentum

Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Each school day provides opportunities for students to engage in meaningful learning, collaborate with peers, and build important academic and social skills. Missing class time can make it more difficult to stay connected to instruction and fully participate in classroom experiences.

At Keyport High School, we encourage students to continue building positive attendance habits by arriving on time, staying engaged, and making each day count. Strong attendance not only supports academic achievement, but also helps students develop responsibility, consistency, and routines that will benefit them well beyond high school.
