PES Monthly Memo
November 2026 🦃
🧡 🧡 🧡PBIS Theme for November: Gratitude
This month, our PBIS focus is Gratitude! We will be encouraging students to recognize and appreciate the people, experiences, and little things that make a positive difference in their lives. Gratitude can be shown in many ways, including saying thank you, recognizing someone’s kindness, helping others, and taking time to appreciate what we have. We want students to understand that showing gratitude not only makes others feel valued but also helps create a positive and caring school community. Throughout November, encourage your child to look for opportunities to show appreciation and spread a little kindness each day!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, November 4, and Thursday, November 5, from 2:00-7:30 PM. Those days will also be 1:35 PM dismissals for PES students.

Illusionist David Corn Visits PES
On October 19, Illusionist David Corn returned to PES to amaze us all with his skills. In addition to performing his tricks and illusions, David delivered messages to students about resilience, responsibility, and kindness.
A special thanks goes out to Pastor Dave Meyers from First Baptist Church of Pecatonica (and PCUSD Bus Driver!) for sponsoring Mr. Corn's visit to Pecatonica Elementary. The kids had a great time!
Kindergarten Celebrates Rainbow Day
Throughout the 1st quarter, Kindergarten learned their colors and dressed in all the colors of the rainbow every Wednesday. They finished off the year dressing in all the colors of the rainbow. On the final color day, Mrs. DeLaGarza's kindergarten class celebrated by reading David McKee's Elmer, a book about a cheerful, multicoloured elephant with a patchwork pattern of yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green, black, and white. In addition to reading the story, they created their own Elmer headbands!
2nd Grade Reader's Theater
Mrs. Garcia's spent class time writing and rehearsing a script for their Monster-themed Reader's Theater. As a surprise, they then took their acting skills to the other 2nd grade classrooms and performed their scripts. They all did such a great job and the other classes were entertained!
PES Halloween Party and Parade
On Friday, October 30, PES celebrated Halloween by dressing up and parading for parents, families, and community members. They followed up with classroom parties where all of our ghouls and goblins played games and snacked on Halloween treats.
