Families- WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Central Elementary Families- WE NEED YOUR HELP!
CES is hosting the Body Venture Traveling Interactive Experience from the Kansas Department of Education for the first time on January 31st for Kindergarten-6th Graders.
This is a big program that we are honored to host. Due to the size of the program- we need volunteers to help with setup on the evening of Tuesday, January 30th, presenters the morning of Wednesday, January 31st and following the program on Wednesday January 31st.
If you are able to help with any of these essential pieces- please sign up below! Thank you for making this day possible for our kids and always supporting students at CES!

We Are a Leader In Me School!
In each classroom, our students share leadership roles that promote ownership and responsibility. For example, all classrooms have a secretary leader where their responsibilty is to answer the classroom phone. They have been trained in phone etiquette, taking and relaying messages- hearing their voices on the phone will immediately brighten your day!
Our 3rd-6th Graders have building wide leadership roles....
Writing and Presenting our Morning Announcements
Creating, Filming and Producing CES NEWS
Breakfast Cleanup and responsible for our state and nation's flag
Librarians that help organize and shelve books
Agriculture group helps with our chickens, garden beds and keeps our playground balls aired up
Social Committee- Creates cards for all students and staff birthdays and they go around each morning to deliver the cards and sing to them
Art Committee- Creates art and hanns them all over the school to make our building cheerful
Our Rockin' Raiders Assemblies are held once a month and presented by students to recognize Leadership Awards, Academic Awards and a Staff Spotlight.
Wiggy Wednesday- Each day, classrooms track their participation in their Lead Measures- this year we are focused on activities that can help increase their reading skills- and on Wednesdays our Student Academic Team tracks the classrooms' data as well as our building data overall. They announce our progress to the student body and organize building wide celebrations for when we meet our goals.
CES has also started a student council committee that we call The Lighthouse Team- they are paired with staff groups that have specific targets and goals and help to implement and work to meet those goals.
Reminder of Our Wellness Policies:
Families, it is that time of year where there are many forms of sickness being shared. This weekend our custodial staff will be conducting additional deep clean and disinfecting measures in classrooms and common spaces as well as encouraging thorough handwashing.
Please see the guidelines below regarding school attendance and illness. Thank you!
