Dress Code

As we approach warmer spring weather, I want to remind everyone of our dress code. Remember, the responsibility for the dress and appearance of students shall rest with the individual and parent/guardian. While dress is a matter of personal choice, teachers, administrators, and District personnel should model and reinforce student understanding of appropriate dress.

An individual’s dress and appearance should be safe, appropriate, and not interfere with the education process (e.g., wearing sneakers for Physical Education class and not wearing open-toed shoes on the playground, etc.). Note: Some classes, may require wearing appropriate protective gear, protective clothing, and removal of jewelry for safety purposes.

World Language Seal of Biliteracy Panelists Needed!

Hello! I am the NYS Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator for BHS!

The World Languages Department is excited to be supporting approximately 30 seniors to earn the Seal of Biliteracy this year.

We are in need of few more expert panelists to support the final steps for three home/heritage speakers pursuing the Seal in Mandarin, Hungarian, and Russian who have already taken and excelled on an accredited exam in their home language.

If you are interested in being our language-specific panel expert to score their country presentation and essay on April 18th or 19th, please contact me to learn more. While we would love all panelists to attend in person, we can consider a virtual option. The panel expert may not be an immediate family member of the candidate.

Additionally, if you know a community member who may be proficient in one of these languages and may have interest in participating, please forward this email to them or connect me to their contact information!
