A Message From Ms. Modiest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for attending our Curriculum Night! All of the support that was shown is a great indication to how dedicated our families are to the educational process. Be sure to reach out to your child's teacher regarding academic progress. Keep in mind that this event was a great opportunity to meet teachers and learn what our students will achieve all year. Feel free to contact your child's teacher for any concerns or updates.

Just a reminder: We are tracking tardies. Every 3rd tardy will result in a detention. We want to support our families in developing appropriate practices. Being on time for school and ready to learn is important. Keep in mind our attendance is monitored by the state.

Breakfast will start daily at 7:20 and 8:20 on Wednesday late starts. We will begin school promptly at 7:50 on regular days and 8:50 on late starts. If a child is late please enter Door #4.

We appreciate your support in the following:

*Making sure your child arrives on time and attends daily.

*Completing all classwork and homework assignments.

*Promoting a love for reading.

Sincerely,

Raquel K. Modiest, Principal

September 11th/Patriot Day... September 11th/Patriot Day...

Today we celebrate September 11th, our students will have a moment of silence in honor of the heroes and first responders. We encourage students to read stories and have brief discussions about this historical day. The students were able to celebrate by wearing red, white, and blue to school. Later they will receive a cool treat in recognition of this special day.

National Teddy Bear Day... National Teddy Bear Day...

On September 9th our students were able to bring in their teddy bears ranging from a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Believe it or not this day has an educational purpose. It is a day set aside that celebrates social, emotional, comfort, and safety. The history of the teddy bear is also connected to a previous President Theodore Roosevelt.

National Dot Day/September 15th... National Dot Day/September 15th...

National Dot Day is a celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration. It is inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' book, The Dot. It is celebrated every year on September 15th by educators around the world. Students may wear polka dots or circular patterns to school. We want to use this day to inspire our students to be creative and try new things.
