Welcome to a new school year at Hedrick Middle School! We are excited to welcome both our returning Wranglers and those joining us for the first time. A new school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, build friendships, and create lasting memories.

Our staff has been working hard to prepare for an amazing year, and we can't wait to partner with our students and families. Together, we will create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. Thank you for being part of the Wrangler family. In Lewisville ISD, the whole child is at the core of everything we do as a district,

including our students' mental, emotional and physical health. With counselors

on every campus, LISD knows parents want their children to receive an

outstanding education, but more importantly, they want their children to be

nurtured and cared for beyond just academics.

LISD provides families with resources to ensure each child receives the support

they need to develop every aspect of their being.

Join us for Orientation on August 6th! Returning students Orientation is at 4:00 p.m., and 6th grade or any other students new to Hedrick this year will be at 5:30. We will have Open Campus on August 11th from 5:00 - 6:00 so that students may walk their schedules.

Doors will open at 7:40 a.m. each morning to admit students. Students should arrive by 8:10 a.m. at the latest in order to make it to first period on time.

Parents will not be able to walk students into the building on the first day, but there will be many excited teachers to show them where to go! Please have your student bring their charged ipad if they have one, and their school supplies. See information below for pick up and drop off procedures.

Please see the map below for pick up and drop off location. Students must only be dropped off and picked up in the parent car loop using the entrance on the northeast corner of campus.

On the first day, you will not be able to walk your students into the building but there will be many excited teachers to help them find where to go. The building opens at 7:40 am., students should not be dropped off before that time.

Hedrick Middle School is a Title I campus. Our Annual Title I meeting will be held on August 25th at 6:00 p.m.

Students are not allowed to use cell phones, wireless headphones, or smart watches at school. These items should be put in the backpacks and be out of sight when students are inside the building.

Schedules will be released on August 5th at 8:00AM in Skyward in the "Scheduling" Tab. We will NOT have paper schedules available for students at orientation, but they will receive a copy first day of school. Counselors and administrators are still working on schedules to balance classes. Your schedule might change before the first day of school. Check Skyward again before the first day of school.

Once you have viewed your schedule, if you have 8 unique class periods and the listed courses above…you are ready to go! No other action is necessary.

All schedules are finalized unless there is a mistake. As a reminder, course selections are requests- they are not guaranteed due to space and course conflicts.

** Due to HB1416, some students will be placed in reading or math electives based on their most recent STAAR scores.

Returning Students: Please be sure to complete your back to school forms and pay the yearly iPad fee to stay up to date. The last day to have forms and fees turned in is August 30th. Online payments can be made through Skyward Family Access. Cash or check payments can be made in the front office.

New Students to Hedrick: iPads to new students are only issued once the 1:X form is completed in Skyward and the yearly fee is paid.

This summer, our talented musicians achieved something truly special by advancing all the way to the TMEA State Honor Band competition—the first Hedrick band to reach the state round in more than 40 years! Competing against some of the top middle school bands in Texas, our Wranglers earned an impressive 8th place finish in their state preliminary group, proving they belonged among the best.

This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence of our students and directors. We are so proud of the way they represented Hedrick and the Wrangler community. Congratulations on making school history!
