PSO General Meeting: Monday 2/12/24

The PSO has officially acquired a Yearbook Chair!!! We can't express how excited we are to have Britney Dominguez join our team! With her help and your support Art Rutkin Elementary will be celebrating our first school year with a Yearbook!
Please stay tuned for details as we figure out the logistics. In the meantime, if you have photos of past events that you would like to contribute the the yearbook, please email them to Yearbook@artrutkinpso.org

The Read-a-thon is in full swing! Make sure that you keep tracking your minutes and collecting those donations! Students, log your minutes through Friday Feb. 9th.
All Reading Logs, Bingo Cards, and Cash Pledges should be turned in on Monday Feb 12th, and no later than Thursday Feb 15th to be considered for prizes.
We are working toward our school goals: $2500 and 25,000 minutes. If we meet them we will have funding for two field trips and earn a School-Wide "Pages and Popcorn" Reading Party! The grade with the most reading minutes will also get an extra recess! There are prizes for Top Readers and Bingo Raffle winners too! Winners will be announced on Friday 2/16.

Students who are not tracking their Reading Minutes and Pledges online are not represented here. Winners will be announced after the Read-a-thon is complete and all paper documents are turned in.

Kindness Rock Painting
Buddy classes will meet in the cafeteria to paint kindness rocks that will be placed around the Art Rutkin School Garden and campus. Buddies will also enjoy a fun Valentine’s Day snack together.

2/4 Buddies - 9:15- 9:45
K/5 Buddies - 9:45 - 10:15
1/3 Buddies - 10:15 - 10:45

We’ll be celebrating some of our super staff this month!
February 5-9 is National Counseling Appreciation Week and we want to recognize Mrs. Biggs for how she supports and cares for all of our students.
February 22 is National Bus Driver Day and we want to thank Mr. Matt for getting our students to and from school safely every day.
We appreciate you, Mrs. Biggs and Mr. Matt!
Valentine's Candy Gram
Place your order for Valentine's Day Candy Grams! $1 Each
A Candy Gram is an envelope made out of a heart shaped doilie (yes we will be hand folding them!) with a heart lollipop inside and a small heart note attached.
Candy Grams will be delivered to students on February 14th.
You can buy one for your child, friends, family, and staff members.
You can even buy one for each student in the class if you want to!

S.T.R.E.A.M. Fair
The PSO is seeking help with the following roles for the Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics Fair!!!
- Exhibit Planning:
-Plan/Create/Secure exhibits and materials with help of the PSO Board
-Coordinate with outside resources (possibly OMSI) - Exhibit Volunteers:
-Help run exhibits day of the fair, Assist participating families - Communications:
-Relay information between the PSO Board, School, Community, and Vendors,
-Promote the Event - Book Fair Support:
-Run Registers, Tidy books, Support finding specific books - Event Support:
-Decorate, Set up, Clean up

Spring Auction
The PSO is seeking help with the following roles for the Spring Auction! This is our biggest event of the year and it's catered specifically to our Art Rutkin Community. We need lots of help with this one! Please see the available volunteer opportunities for this event:
- Event Planning
- Donation Support:
-Seek donations from community businesses and members
-Promote items online and pre-auction - Communications:
-Relay information between the PSO Board, school, community, and vendors,
-Promote the Event online and in the community - Auction Support:
-Monitor Auction Items and bidding online
-Contact Winners, collect payment, and distribute items
