Charger Times- February 2025
Message from Mrs. Vandiver and Mrs. Menteer
Dear Charger Families,
As we begin the month of February, we want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of this time of year. February is often seen as a month of warmth and kindness, a perfect opportunity to show appreciation for each other as we continue building a positive school community. Our students have been working hard, and it’s been wonderful to watch them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The spirit of kindness and collaboration truly shines in our school, and we are excited to continue fostering that throughout the month.
As we celebrate Valentine’s Day and take a break for Presidents’ Day, we encourage you to remind your children of the importance of kindness and generosity — not just during this special month, but throughout the entire year. We have many exciting activities planned, including our Valentine’s parties and fun classroom events, and we’re so grateful for your support in making these experiences memorable for our students.
Now, onto some important dates and information for the month!

Eating healthy and exercising are two ways to help keep our hearts happy! Remember when making your plate add different colors for more heart healthy vitamins and minerals!
Please stop by and see Nurse Nikki to buy a heart happy keychain to help support the AHA! Key chains are $1 and can be purchased in my office any day of the week!
Remember to be either sanitizing or washing your hands frequently. Sharing is caring unless it involves germs!!
Compass Classroom with Mrs. Pinkston & Mr. Sancegraw
Our staff has been focusing on the 7 Powers of Conscious Adults. Becoming conscious of hurtful patterns and the willingness to change those patterns is the greatest gift we can give children. Becoming conscious allows us to access our own wisdom and remain calm in the face of antagonism and disorder. It is the foundation of choice and change for us and children.

We would like to give a SHOUT OUT to our school counselor, Mrs. Boyd! Mrs. Boyd plays so many roles in our building and is an integral part of our team. Mrs. Boyd meets with individual students for various needs, pulls small groups to work on social/emotional skills, teaches lessons to ALL classrooms, and SO much more. Her dedication, support, and care make such a positive impact on so many students. She always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered. Thank you Mrs. Boyd for creating a safe space for all of us here at Jefferson and for helping us navigate both our academic and personal challenges. We are so grateful to have you! ❤️
