Better Together: Winter Parties and Adopt-A-Family

Today we kicked off the winter season with winter parties and wrapping presents for the Adopt-A-Family program. Our students enjoyed time laughing, playing games and preparing gifts for families. Thank you to parents who organized parties and the Adopt-A-Family coordinators for all of their hard work.

Always Growing: What To Expect On The New Grade Card

Last week, I shared additional information about the shifts in grading practices at the elementary level. Continuing with that theme, this week we will highlight the grade card. At the end of each semester (January and May), parents will be able to access the student grade card in Infinite Campus. The grade card will ONLY report standards that have been taught to your student based on the end of year expected mastery. Throughout the school year, we cover numerous standards, but not all are expected to meet end-of-year mastery by January. Consequently, you may notice blank spaces on your child's report card. A blank indicates that a particular standard (1)has not been addressed during the current first semester, or (2) the end-of-year mastery is not yet expected. As a result, it's common to observe several blank fields on your child’s grade card, as most standards are typically mastered closer to the end of the academic year. For more detailed and up-to-date information on your child's progress on blank standards, you can refer to the gradebook. We also look forward to discussing your child's progress at Parent-Teacher Conferences in February.
