A Note from the Principal
Day 88/180
What a week it has been at the Jacobs School. I’d like to first send a huge shout-out to the following students for presenting at this week’s School Committee meeting and sharing their roles within the leadership structure at the Jacobs School:
NJHS: Molly McCarthy, Josie Tyrell, Piper Yakubian, and Abby Donovan
JMS Student Council: Payton Dunn and Reese Irby
JES Student Council: Jordan Dunn, Liam Palermo, Luke Panetta, Owen Bilodeau, Willa Britton, and Zephyr Al-Aidroos
Each of these students spoke with confidence, poise, and conviction, representing our school community in a way that made all of us at the Jacobs School incredibly proud. It is always inspiring to see our students step into leadership roles and share their voices so thoughtfully.
Last Friday, our Elementary Student Council also presented during our JES Spirit Day assembly, continuing to model leadership, pride, and responsibility for their peers. During the assembly, we focused on what kindness looks like and sounds like. This message will continue through our JES Kindness Tree Project, where students will add leaves for kind words and actions to help our bare tree grow into a bright, colorful display. While the tree helps make kindness visible, we reminded students that the most meaningful kindness is often the kindness they choose when no one is watching.
Last night, 34 Jacobs Middle School chorus students traveled to Providence, Rhode Island, to perform the Star-Spangled Banner at the start of the Providence Bruins game. Not only did they perform beautifully in two-part harmony, they represented the Jacobs School and the Town of Hull with professionalism and respect. Many families also made the trip to support our students and enjoy a great night of hockey. Our students should be very proud of their hard work and outstanding performance. Bravo.
Tomorrow, Mrs. Scott will host the monthly JMS Meeting as our middle school students continue their important work building community and school culture.
Lastly, with a big Patriots game coming up on Sunday, we want to do our part to cheer them on. All students are encouraged to wear Patriots gear or team colors to celebrate and show their spirit. I hope you all enjoy a nice long weekend.

If your child will be 5 years old on the first day of school, it's time to register for kindergarten! Please join us for K-101 on February 4 at 5:30pm to learn about the kindergarten curriculum, meet the teachers and tour the classrooms. We’ll inform you of important dates and information to get your child started on their educational journey.
Please go to our website to start the registration process, or contact Katy Rae Abatuno at kabatuno@hullpublicschools.us for more information. Students already enrolled in Hull Integrated Preschool at the Jacob School will automatically advance to kindergarten ─ no re-registration is needed.
