Welcome back, Washington Woods families!

I hope your summer has been filled with fun, relaxation, and special time with family and friends. August is here and our staff has been hard at work preparing for another incredible year at Washington Woods. We are excited to welcome both new and returning families and can't wait to fill our hallways with smiling faces once again!

At Washington Woods, we believe that great schools are built on strong relationships. This year, we'll continue to focus on building a connected school community while helping our students learn what it means to live The Woods Way each day we are at school. Together, we'll create a place where every child feels welcomed, supported, challenged, and celebrated. Thank you for partnering with us—we're looking forward to an amazing year!

Important Dates to Remember

Friday, August 7
Teacher placements will be available for families. We know this is always an exciting milestone, and we can't wait for students to find out who their teacher will be!

Monday, August 10 – Rock the Block
Join us for Westfield's district-wide Rock the Block event at Westfield Middle School! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families, enjoy activities, and celebrate the start of another great school year.

Wednesday, August 12

• Kindergarten Parent Information Meeting: 5:30–6:00 p.m.
• Grades K–5 Back-to-School Night/Open House: 6:00–7:00 p.m.
• Grades K–5 PTO Cookout: 6:00–7:30 p.m.

Kindergarten Families: Our Parent Information Meeting will take place in your child's classroom and is intended for parents or guardians. If you need to bring your child, our special area teachers will be supervising students in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) during the meeting. Please plan to pick up your child from the MPR promptly at 6:00 p.m. so they can make it to their rooms for Open House.

Thursday, September 3

• Grades 1–5 Parent Information Night: 6:00–7:00 p.m.

This evening is an opportunity for parents and guardians of students in grades 1–5 to learn more about classroom routines, curriculum, expectations, and the exciting year ahead. There will not be child care for this evening. We hope you'll be able to join us!

Looking Ahead

We're excited to introduce a few updates this year that will help improve communication and dismissal procedures.

• This year, Washington Woods will begin using School Dismissal Manager to help streamline dismissal changes and improve student safety. We will be sharing more information soon about how the system works, what families need to do, and when you'll be able to set up your account. Be sure to watch your email for those details.
• You'll also receive information about updates to our parent pick-up lines before the first day of school. Our goal is to make dismissal as safe and efficient as possible, and we'll provide everything you need to know ahead of time.

We are excited to welcome everyone back for the 2026–2027 school year. As we prepare for another great year together, we could use your help with a few important steps to ensure everything is ready for your student.

Please log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to confirm your student(s)' enrollment status for the 2026-2027 school year. Once you're logged in, you'll find the Enrollment Confirmation tab in the menu on the left side of your screen. NOTE: Even if your child will not attend WWS next year, you still need to complete this process.
