Principal's Message
Hello, Crestview Families!
Can you believe that Monday marks our 50th day of school?! 🎉 We have already accomplished so much, and I couldn't be prouder of our Crestview Eagles! Just this past week alone, we have made some incredible memories!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Festival! 🎃🍂 We had record-breaking attendance, and it was absolutely wonderful seeing our families come together to meet, greet, eat, and enjoy an evening of fun! Fall Festival is truly one of my favorite events of the year because it reminds me of what makes our Crestview community so special. Thank you to our families, staff, PTO, and volunteers who helped make this event such a success!
This week, we're keeping the excitement going with Red Ribbon Week! ❤️ Get ready for a week of fun spirit dress-up days as we celebrate making healthy, positive choices! I also can't wait to get a sneak peek at the amazing talent our Eagles will showcase during our Talent Show auditions! 🎤🌟
And don't forget—Boo Grams are on sale! 👻💌Our wonderful Crestview PTO is hosting a Boo Gram fundraiser! 💌 Surprise your child with a special treat, or encourage your Eagle to spread a little kindness by purchasing a Boo Gram for a friend or favorite faculty member!
Boo Gram order sheets have already been sent home by classroom teachers. If you need additional Boo Gram sheets, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.
All Boo Grams will be delivered this Friday! Thank you for supporting our PTO and helping spread a little Halloween cheer throughout Crestview!

Assistant Principal’s Corner
Be an Upstander, Not a Bystander!
It Takes Courage to Do What’s Right!
Last week, we reminded our Eagles that everyone deserves friendship, kindness, and a sense of belonging. This week, we’re taking that message one step further by focusing on the courage it takes to stand up for others.
At Crestview, we want our Eagles to understand that being kind isn’t just about how we treat others. It’s also about what we choose to do when we see someone being treated unfairly.
As we close out National Bullying Prevention Month, we’re encouraging our students to be UPSTANDERS instead of BYSTANDERS!
An upstander is someone who chooses to help when they see someone being hurt, excluded, or mistreated. Sometimes that means offering a kind word, inviting someone to join an activity, or telling a trusted adult when something isn’t right.
Being an upstander doesn’t mean confronting someone or putting yourself in danger. It means having the courage to make a safe, positive choice that helps someone else.
Families Can Help!
Talk with your Eagle about ways they can safely stand up for others:
- Notice when someone is being left out or treated unkindly.
- Include others and help classmates feel welcome.
- Refuse to join in when someone is teasing or making fun of another person.
- Tell a trusted adult when someone is being hurt or bullied.
- Show kindness and support to someone having a difficult day.
The Courage to Care Family Challenge!
This week, challenge your Eagle to demonstrate courage through kindness, respect, and positive choices.
- Monday: Notice someone who may need a friend and make them feel included.
- Tuesday: Use your words to encourage someone who is having a difficult day.
- Wednesday: Choose not to participate in teasing, gossip, or unkind behavior.
- Thursday: Show courage by asking a trusted adult for help when something isn’t right.
- Friday: Recognize someone who made a positive difference in your day.
Family Conversation Starter
At dinner, in the car, or before bedtime, ask:
“If you saw someone being treated unkindly, what could you do to help them safely?”
Follow up with:
“Why do you think it sometimes takes courage to do the right thing?”
Parents and caregivers, share an example of a time you stood up for someone or made a difficult but positive choice. Our children learn that courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about choosing to do what’s right, even when it isn’t easy.
This Week’s Crestview Reminder
You don’t have to be the loudest voice to make the biggest difference. Sometimes the smallest act of courage can change someone’s entire day.
Be Safe. Take Ownership. Have a Positive Attitude. Show Respect.
Together, let’s continue building a school where every Eagle feels safe, every Eagle feels supported, and every Eagle knows they matter!

Our Crestview Eagles are working hard to soar toward our 98% attendance goal! Here's a look at our attendance percentages for the week:
Monday: 93.91%
Tuesday: 95.62%
Wednesday: 94.67%
Thursday: 96.26%
Friday: 92.61%
📊 October's Current Attendance Average: 95.99%
🎯 Our Campus Goal: 98%! 🍧
Every day at school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed! Consistent attendance helps students build strong academic foundations, develop positive habits, and stay connected to their classroom community. Even missing one day can mean missing important instruction and learning experiences.
🩺 DID YOU KNOW? Doctor's Appointments & Attendance!
If your child has a scheduled doctor's appointment, they may still be counted PRESENT for the day! Under Texas attendance rules, students who attend a healthcare appointment, return to school the same day, and provide a doctor's note verifying the appointment may qualify to be counted present.
We encourage families to bring students to school before their appointments or return them to school afterward whenever possible. Every minute of instruction matters!
❤️💙 Families, we need your help! Let's work together to improve our attendance by making sure our Eagles arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Please schedule appointments outside school hours whenever possible and keep students home when they are sick.
🍧 The sweetest reward awaits! When we reach our 98% attendance goal, our Eagles will celebrate with a popsicle party during lunch!
🦅 Every Eagle matters. Every day counts. Together, we can reach 98%! ❤️💙

Safety and Security Protocols
At Judson ISD, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. That's why we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a nationally recognized system also used by local law enforcement agencies. Having a shared language helps everyone respond quickly and effectively when every second counts.
Learn more about SRP by watching this short video and how it is used on JISD campuses.
We've also included handouts for parents explaining the SRP language and actions for both students and staff.
School Supply List
Please visit our campus website for the complete school supply list.
If your family needs assistance obtaining school supplies, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to help. You may contact your child's classroom teacher, school counselor, campus secretary, or an administrator for assistance and guidance. At Crestview, we are committed to ensuring every student has the supplies they need for a successful start to the school year.
Judson ISD Academic Calendar
Please visit the Judson ISD website and Crestview Website using the links below to stay informed throughout the school year:
- Academic Calendar – View important school dates, holidays, grading periods, and student/staff holidays.
- District Events – Stay up to date on districtwide events, activities, celebrations, and opportunities for families.
We encourage families to check both resources regularly so you don't miss important information and upcoming events.
Judson ISD Student Code of Conduct and Grading Handbook
We believe that students can make responsible decisions regarding their behavior when they understand the rules and the consequences of violating them. We ask students to please carefully read this Handbook, especially Section III, which sets out the Student Code of Conduct, and request all students to listen attentively and actively participate during class discussion/presentations on this topic at school. If students are in need of assistance, they should ask for help before a problem arises.
At Crestview Elementary, grades are intended to reflect each student's understanding and mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Teachers use a variety of assignments, classwork, assessments, and observations to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback throughout the year.
Families are encouraged to regularly monitor their child's academic progress through Skyward Family Access, communicate with their child's teacher, and review graded work sent home. Working together helps ensure every student has the support they need to be successful.
For detailed information regarding grading practices, report cards, progress reports, and district grading guidelines, please refer to the Judson ISD Grading & Reporting Handbook.
Safety Screenings at JISD Facilities
Keeping our students, staff, and visitors safe is a top priority at Judson ISD. As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, anyone entering a JISD facility or attending a school-sponsored event may be asked to pass through a walk-through metal detector or participate in a hand-held screening.
These screenings may be used for all individuals entering JISD campuses and facilities, including those attending special events or school activities, whether they take place on or off district-owned or leased property. Exceptions may apply.
JISD conducts all screenings in a fair, respectful, and consistent manner. Screening procedures are applied without regard to a person's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, appearance, or association with any individual or group.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the JISD community.
Read the Frequently Asked Questions on our website.
