What Projects Would the D300 Bond Referendum Help Fund? What Projects Would the D300 Bond Referendum Help Fund?

On November 3, 2026, District 300 voters will decide whether the district may issue bonds to help fund more than 20 proposed projects at schools and facilities throughout the district.

The projects span District 300's three high school feeder patterns: Dundee-Crown, Hampshire, and Jacobs. The proposal also includes a district-wide Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center that would serve students from all three high schools.

The proposed projects are intended to address increasing student enrollment and aging buildings and infrastructure across District 300 while supporting students and staff as education changes.

If the referendum is approved, funding would support proposed improvements intended to help address these facility and educational needs across District 300.

What Types of Projects Are Being Proposed?

If voters approve the bond referendum, funding would support projects such as:

  • Classroom additions and renovations

  • Additions and renovations to student services areas, cafeterias, kitchens, and restrooms

  • Secured entrances

  • Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, roofing, and flooring improvements

  • Athletic stadium and performing arts auditorium renovations at the high schools

  • A district-wide Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center

Proposed CTE Center

If approved, the November 3 bond referendum would help fund a new district-wide CTE Center serving students from Dundee-Crown, Hampshire, and Jacobs high schools.

Students would remain enrolled at their home high school while attending the CTE Center for certain specialized, career-focused courses.

Currently, student interest in CTE offerings can exceed available space. Five of District 300’s CTE labs are in use every available period of the school day, limiting the district’s ability to add classes or expand programming in those spaces. The proposed CTE Center would provide additional space for specialized, career-focused courses.

The proposed CTE Center could provide additional opportunities for students to explore programs such as:

  • Automation and robotics

  • Culinary arts, including restaurant entrepreneurship

  • Diesel and heavy equipment

  • Early childhood education

  • Healthcare, including sports medicine/physical therapy, CNA/nursing, and biomedical science

  • Information technology, including networking and cybersecurity

  • Construction trades, including electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry

The proposed center could also include space for transitional programming for special education students, as well as the District 300 Food Pantry.
