Syracuse High's Troy Lund Named Utah Science Teacher of the Year!

We are incredibly excited to announce that Troy Lund was honored this morning as the Utah Teaching Association's Science Teacher of the Year! This outstanding recognition celebrates Troy's dedication, creativity, and exceptional ability to inspire students through science education.

Throughout his career, Troy has taught at several high schools across Davis County, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. Here at Syracuse High School, he has been an absolute rock star! His enthusiasm is contagious, his lessons are engaging, and he works tirelessly to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that make science exciting and accessible for every student.

Great teachers do more than deliver curriculum—they spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire students to discover what they are capable of achieving. Troy embodies everything we hope for in an outstanding educator.

This recognition is a tremendous honor, and we couldn't be prouder to have Troy representing Syracuse High School. Congratulations, Troy! You make Titan Nation proud!

Syracuse Families, We Need YOU!

Syracuse High School is looking for wonderful families to host exchange students from Taiwan January 25–February 2, 2027, and we still need volunteers!

This is an incredible opportunity to share a little of our Titan hospitality, experience a new culture, and create friendships that can last a lifetime! Host families receive $40 per student, per night, and their Syracuse High student will receive first selection into the Taiwan Summer Program.

All you need is a welcoming home, a private room, meals, and help with transportation. Just nine days of your time could create memories these students will treasure forever!

Titan families, we are counting on you! Please consider opening your home. If you can't host, help us spread the word!
