Special Edition-LS Principal
Dear Nova Classical Families,
I am writing to share that our Lower School Principal, Brooke Tousignant, has decided to step down from her role at Nova Classical Academy, effective June 30, 2025. Ms. Tousignant will be pursuing opportunities outside of school leadership after a decade of remarkable service to our community.
During her tenure, Ms. Tousignant has been a pillar of strength and positivity for the Nova Classical community. Her leadership has fostered a welcoming and supportive climate for students and staff alike. She was instrumental in implementing essential reading and math intervention programs, ensuring that all students had access to the tools they needed to thrive. Additionally, her steady hand helped guide our school through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. Tousignant shares, "It has been an incredible honor and a privilege to be part of this community for the past 10 years. During my time at Nova, I have had the pleasure of working with dedicated teachers, staff, students, and families who have made this experience incredibly rewarding. I will forever be so proud of the achievements we’ve accomplished together and the positive impact we’ve made on the lives of our students and school community."
We understand that transitions like this may bring up questions and emotions for our students. We encourage you to share this news with your child and remind them that they will continue to be supported by Ms. Tousignant, their teachers, peers, and the school community throughout this change. Together, we can help them process this news and approach the future with optimism and resilience.
In the coming months, we will begin the search for our next Lower School Principal, with the goal of identifying a new leader by spring 2025 and having them join us in the summer. We will keep you informed about the process and share opportunities for you to provide input, ensuring we find a leader who will build on the strong foundation that Ms. Tousignant has established.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate this important transition.
It’s a Great Day to Be a Knight,
Dr. Brett Wedlund
