Mr. Covert's Musings
Dear Hereford Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year! I’m excited to see the great things that our students and teachers will accomplish together this year. Our work will continue to be grounded in our mantra of “Every Bull, Every Day” and our mission: Hereford High School’s mission is to support each student in achieving their academic potential and college and career aspirations through a rigorous educational program and an inclusive school community.
I ask that you stay engaged with your student, both academically and socially, throughout the school year. Even though they are now teenagers/young adults, our students still need your support with navigating high school. Each week, set aside time to check in with them to see how they are doing socially and check their grades on Schoology. I encourage you to have them show you their calendar on AllTimely to make sure that their activity signups are in alignment with their needs. If your student needs additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their Teacher and/or School Counselor. In the Smore below, you will also find a “Who Do I Contact?” document that will help you quickly contact the correct staff member. This document will also be posted on our website for your reference.
This year, our summer mailing is totally electronic, so don’t expect anything to come via the mail. Students and parents can access schedules via Focus on August 8, 2025. Locker assignments will be shared with students in Homeroom on the first day of school, except for 9th grade students who will get them during Early Entry Day on August 21, 2025. The information that comes after this letter will contain some of the more important school documents. In addition, like last year, we are continuing to house much of the Back to School information on our website (https://herefordhs.bcps.org). Click to the “Parents” link on the menu bar on the top of the website. There you will find many resources including the device usage policy, grading policy, attendance policy, A/B schedule, Bus Routes (available later in the month via Focus), and much more. As the year progresses, the website will be your go-to for much of the information about the school.
Thank you in advance for your partnership and support of your student and our staff. The 2025-2026 school year is going to be our best one yet!
Go Bulls,
Robert Covert
