Letter from Dr. O'Reilly
Dear Forest Avenue Families and Caregivers,
It was good to see many of you at the “Downtown Trick or Treat” on Thursday afternoon. It is truly a wonderful town tradition - one of my favorites!
If you are like me, and looking forward to a little more sleep and some more morning sunshine as we change the clocks this weekend, I wish you a Happy “End to Daylight Savings Time.” My experience has taught me, however, that this coming Monday morning might be a little challenging for many of us because of the change. Please remember that school arrival time at Forest Avenue School begins at 8:20am and concludes at 8:35am. Students who arrive after 8:35am will be marked tardy. Teachers are asked to take attendance in their classrooms at 8:36am when we begin announcements. Thank you in advance for all you do to help your child get off to a good start each morning.
My best wishes for a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Tricia

A Note about the Car Line @ Dismissal
We understand that cars may sometimes back up onto Woodrow Street prior to the chain coming down for dismissal. However, if we could just be aware of the neighbors of Forest Ave and please try not to block driveways as they may need to come and go as well. Thank you!

Cartwheel: Mental Health Resource for Families
Hudson Public Schools Families,
A new school year means new routines, new classrooms, and a fresh start. It can also bring anxiety, stress, or emotional challenges that make it harder to settle in.
Cartwheel, our virtual mental health partner, can offer:
- Individual teletherapy for students — appointments with a licensed therapist available within days, with no waitlist
- Parent and caregiver guidance — practical support for navigating challenges at home
- Family therapy for transitions, stress, or ongoing challenges
- Psychiatric support, when appropriate
- Care Programs for specific challenges like school avoidance, screens and social media, and intense emotions and behavior challenges
Appointments are virtual, scheduling is flexible, and care is available in multiple languages. For students with Medicaid, care is completely free. Most private insurance plans are also accepted.
Getting started takes just a few minutes. Complete this simple interest form, and someone from Cartwheel will follow up with you.
Colder Weather is Coming
As the colder weather approaches, please ensure that children are dressed appropriately for the weather including outdoor recess, as we will be going outside unless the temperature is 23F with the wind chill factor or lower. Students should come with warm coats, hats, gloves, and boots. If your family needs assistance obtaining a winter coat and/or boots, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am happy to help!
