Weaver Lake Elementary PTO

We hope everyone had a restful and joyful winter break! Let's take a look at a couple past events and a whole bunch of fun upcoming ones!

The PTO has a Twins & Other Family Sports Outings Chairperson, Molly, that plans MN sports events for Weaver Lake families at a discounted price. It's a great way for the Weaver Lake community to be together having fun watching live sports! Here was the MN WILD day in December!

Did you miss the MN WILD day and want to catch the next sports event? This spring, watch for the Weaver Lake family TWINS day! More details to come!

Our fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Thao reached out to a community resource that came to our school and let 4th graders build birdhouses. They supplied all the wood pieces, nails, bird seeds and set up a workshop for each 4th grader in the science lab so they can work on their hammering skills. Four parent volunteers from each class also learned how to make the birdhouses so that they could coach the students through the process. Check out their craftmanship!

On February 6th, District 279 Foundation is hosting their annual gala fundraiser at Leopold's Mississippi Gardens event center. The theme this year is A Night Out - Winter Wonderland. Our Weaver Lake PTO donation to the District 279 Foundation's silent auction is a basket with a total value of $450! We were able to graciously accept donations from local businesses to support the foundation's grant work. Grants from the foundation go directly back into the Osseo district to fund programming for our scholars.

Remember, every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am-11:30am, you can bring your K-5 students to play together at the Weaver Lake Elementary playground. Follow district weather guidelines for safe temperatures!

January 12th-18th will be the Jersey Mike's Fundraiser!

Go to Weaver Lake Elementary on Thursday, January 22nd, from 5:30-7:30pm for family Engineering Night! Hands on activities to explore and learn together. Hosted by The Works Museum and generously sponsored by the Weaver Lake PTO with funds raised this year!

Before or after this event, go to SKY ZONE to complete a fun filled evening!

Go to SKY ZONE on Thursday, January 22nd from 5-7pm. Make sure to mention you are there for the Weaver Lake Elementary PTO Fundraiser!! 20% of every ticket goes to Weaver Lake Elementary!

Our PTO is looking for a Color Run Chair to help lead one of our most exciting events of the year!

As Color Run Chair, you’ll:

• Help plan a super fun, high-energy school event

• Work with a supportive PTO team

• Create an unforgettable experience for our students

No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a love for school fun!

This is a perfect time to join, as you will have guidance from Mona, the current chair. Mona has made this event so smooth and seamless, it will take minimal effort to plan!
