Families of students who will be receiving reading intervention this year have been notified.

News from the Nurse
2026/2027 Health Screenings
The Pennsylvania Public School Code requires all school districts to conduct annual health screenings for students. These mandatory assessments include vision (KG-5th grade), hearing (KG-3rd grade), and growth screenings (height, weight, and Body Mass Index calculation for all KG-5th grade students).
As part of the growth screening, your child’s height and weight are measured and used to calculate their BMI-for-age percentile. This information is reported to the state in aggregate and is not specific for your child. The screening is intended to help monitor general patterns of student growth and development.
If you do not want your child to have their height, weight, and BMI measured at school this year, please complete this form as soon as possible.
The following screenings have already been scheduled for Washington Elementary students:
Grade 5: Thursday, October 8th
Grade 4: Wednesday, October 14th
If you would like to opt out your 4th or 5th grader, please complete this form no later than 10/6. If you have any questions, please contact the health room nurse at (610) 473-1970.
Donation Request!
The nurses are seeking the following donations for the Health Room:
-New or gently used sweatpants (unisex) - Sizes 4-16
-New or gently used t-shirts (unisex) - Sizes 4-16
-New or gently used casual shorts (boys and girls) - Sizes 4-16
-New boy and/or girl underwear - Sizes 4-16
-New or gently used shoes
We appreciate your generosity and kind attention to this matter!
Dear WES Families,
Please enjoy this month’s “Helping Children Learn” Title I newsletters and daily planners at the links below. These resources are available in both English and Spanish. These Title I resources are provided each month to involve families in their child’s education. Here we will share simple ideas for nurturing literacy, as well as effective work habits and study skills. In this edition, you will find information about developing reading comprehension skills, reinforcing responsibility, and preparing questions for parent-teacher conferences.

Early Pick up Reminder
Please remember when you are submitting an Early Pick up request for your child on Infinite Campus, to include the student's teacher, and who will be picking the student up for the day. Thank you.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
As a reminder, parents/guardians are required to provide written notification to the school for each day their child is not in attendance. Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse explaining the absence, to be submitted within three (3) days of the absence. The district will not change the attendance code for written notifications received after (3) three days.
Throughout the summer, Boyertown Area School District has worked to streamline the absence reporting process for all stakeholders. Parents and guardians can now complete an absence request through their Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. The Infinite Campus Absence Request feature has replaced the Google Attendance forms and can be used for absences, late arrivals, early departures, and to begin the educational trip request process. This Absence Request Video shows you how to complete the IC Absence Request process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to campusportalhelp@boyertownasd.org or contact your building's Attendance Admin..
Thank you for your attention to this important update. We appreciate your cooperation.
