Hendrickson High School

Hawk News 2/13/2026Hendrickson High School

Message from Principal Grebb:

We hope everyone is loving their current grades and attendance record. It is so important this time of year that everyone stays on top of their classes and comes to school every period, every day. This might be the most difficult stretch of the year, but if you show up lovely things will happen. We are exactly one month out from Spring Break. The next Friday the 13th will be March 13 and that is our ticket to Spring Break. Keep the love for school going after this weekend and together we can easily get through this month. To the class of 2026 hang in their we are about 100 days out to graduation on May 27th. I hoping you tell someone you love them this weekend. I'll start. I love Hendrickson and this school community. Have a great weekend!

School Day SAT (all 11th Graders) March 4th School Day SAT (all 11th Graders) March 4th

Free Practice

Dear Juniors and Parents of Juniors,

In just three weeks, on March 4, 2026, all Hendrickson juniors will take the school-day SAT. This is an important assessment, as it helps determine whether students will need to enroll in College Prep Math and/or College Prep Reading next year.

To meet the college-ready benchmark through the SAT, students must earn:

480 or higher in Reading

530 or higher in Math

Students who meet or exceed these scores will not be scheduled into College Prep Math or Reading. Students who do not meet the benchmarks will have another opportunity to demonstrate college readiness by taking the TSIA in late April or early May.

Our English and Math teachers have been intentionally preparing students through their coursework, and we encourage students to take advantage of the excellent free resources available to further strengthen their readiness before March 4.

Free Practice for the SAT

College Board, the creator of the SAT, offers official SAT practice that’s 100% free.

Students can prepare with:

Full-length practice tests in Bluebook™: This is the same digital platform used on test day.

Personalized prep in My Practice: Students can review practice test results and get targeted questions.

Skill building on Khan Academy®: Offers video lessons and practice for Math, Reading, and Writing.

SAT Question of the Day: This is an easy way to make practice a habit.

Download the free SAT study plan.

FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026) FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026)

Dear Senior Parents and Guardians,

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is officially open for the Class of 2026! Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in securing financial aid for college, trade school, or career training programs.

This application determines eligibility for:

  • Federal grants (money you don’t repay)

  • Work-study opportunities

  • Low-interest federal student loans

  • Many state and college-specific scholarships

How the FAFSA Works This Year:

  1. The student begins the FAFSA with their own username and password.

  2. The student will then invite one parent/guardian (called a “contributor”) to log in with their own username and password.

  3. That parent completes their section, and then the FAFSA is submitted.

Important: Only one parent needs to fill out the FAFSA. Which parent is used depends on the family situation:

  • Married parents (to each other): Both parents’ information is included, but only one parent logs in as the contributor.

  • Divorced/separated parents: Use the parent the student lived with most in the past 12 months (or who provided more financial support).

    • If that parent is remarried, the stepparent’s info must be included too.

  • Single, never married parent: Only that parent’s info is needed.

Why act quickly?

  • Some financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Many colleges require the FAFSA on file before awarding scholarships.

  • Even if you don’t think you qualify, it’s still worth completing.

  • You’ll need your 2024 tax information to complete the form.

Student Parking Permits Student Parking Permits

Students must provide completed permit agreement, valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance, and $25 annual fee (paid by cash or check). Permit should be affixed on the front windshield, inside lower right-hand corner and must be in original, purchased condition. Students may park only in the general student parking lots (A, B & C) located on the southwest part of the property as well as the lots located near the athletic Fieldhouse and tennis courts. Students are strictly prohibited from parking in Faculty Parking areas and will be ticketed and/or immobilized (booted). Citations for not having a permit are $25 and parking in non-student areas are $15. Also seniors who have bought parking spots have exclusive rights to the space during school hours.
