Dogs on the Property
This fall we have seen more and more dogs accompanying families during pick-up and drop-off times. While we love to see our students’ furry friends, we also want to remind families that dogs are not permitted on school property. If you choose to walk your dog to pick-up/drop-off, please wait for your student off of school grounds.

Updates from Art
Our artists are creating a special collaborative paper quilt that will bring together the creativity of every student at Tremont! Each student will design their own paper quilt square, and together, these individual pieces will become one large collaborative artwork.
Inspired by the work of Frank Stella and Sol LeWitt, students are exploring patterns, shapes, and the power of repetition. Each grade level is using different art supplies to create an exciting variety of colors and textures, making every square unique.
We are so excited to see how all of these individual creations come together to make one beautiful piece of art that represents our entire Tremont community!
During the 2025-2026 school year, we had the honor to work with local author and former Tremont parent Edith Pattou Emery to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the children’s book, Mrs. Spitzer’s Garden. With grant money from the Upper Arlington Education Foundation and the Tremont PTO, all students and staff members, as well as former students, staff members and volunteer parents were invited to paint a ceramic tile to commemorate this event. Each tile was carefully fired and this summer, installed as a mural in the main hallway at Tremont. A HUGE thank you to Scott Carskadon (Tremont parent and owner of Eagle Specialty Remodeling) for completing the installation process! Be sure to check out the mural when you are in the building and read our impact statement from the Upper Arlington Education Foundation website.
Note from Nurse Dawn
We want to remind parents that the Tremont Health Clinic tracks communicable illnesses and works with local public health agencies to mitigate potential outbreaks. If your student is diagnosed with or treated for a communicable illness (e.g., strep, pinkeye, influenza, COVID-19, lice, etc.), please report the illness to the school nurse at tremonthealthclinic@uaschools.org or tremontattendance@uaschools.org. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure Tremont is a healthy learning environment for all our students!
Morning Drop Off Routine
If you are using our main car rider drop off lane, here are a few reminders so we can ensure a smooth arrival:
1-Please pull all the way forward but do not block the raised crosswalk area.
2-As soon as your car stops please have your child exit your car. (it's a great idea to have backpack and lunchboxes ready to go)
3-The drop off lane extends to the swimming pool entrance. If your car stops along the swimming pool, please have your child exit the car onto the sidewalk near the pool.
If you park in the lot and walk your child to the front door, please do not cross the parking lot unless you are using the raised crosswalk area, you will see Mrs. Perry directing traffic there in a yellow vest.
Jones Swing Space Informational Meetings
Jones swing space informational meetings
If the November 3 ballot issue funding the second phase of the master plan is approved by voters, Jones Middle School would undergo a major renovation and rebuilding project. That work would tentatively begin in the spring / summer of 2028 — and, because of the scope of the project, Jones students would need to learn in alternate locations for approximately 2 ½ to 3 years, beginning with the 2028-2029 school year. This would impact students currently in grades 2-6 who would be attending Jones during that time. We know that is a significant change for students and families, and we want to make sure you have an opportunity to learn more about what that would look like and ask questions.
Families of students currently in grades 2-6 at Barrington, Tremont, Wickliffe and Jones are invited to attend one of two swing space informational meetings.
Thursday, September 17: 7:00 p.m. in the Jones Middle School cafeteria
Friday, September 18: 11:00 a.m. at the Bob Crane Community Center

Building tour opportunities
On November 3, residents will vote on a combined operating levy and bond issue that would maintain the district’s current educational programming and fund the second phase of the facilities master plan, which calls for rebuilding Hastings Middle School and Burbank Early Childhood School as well as renovating and rebuilding Jones Middle School.
As residents consider Issue 7, we are providing opportunities to get a first-hand look inside each of these schools. All three buildings will be open on Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday October 8, with tours beginning at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
To learn more about the building tours or Issue 7, please click here.
Profile of an Engaged Learner Survey (Panorama platform)
The fall survey window is September 21st - October 2nd. The district office emailed parents/caregivers links to survey questions and to topic alignment with our Profile of an Engaged Learner on Thursday, September 3. The email also included a link to opt their student(s) out of the survey, if they so choose. The opt-out form will accept responses through September 17th.
