Principal's Message
One of my favorite parts of the day is standing at the front doors at 7:30 a.m. to greet our students. Even when they arrive a bit sleepy, seeing their incredible potential fills me with hope. That sense of hope and community feels especially vital right now in light of the recent tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend. I am heartbroken for the Bend community.
I am re-sharing the resource that Superintendent Owens included in his message to the community: Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Families and Educators. Additionally, I am sharing the link to Safe Oregon, where safety concerns can be reported confidentially at any time. As always, please feel free to reach out directly to our main office if you ever wish to speak with an administrator about a safety concern.
In this edition of our newsletter, we balance safety and care with celebrations of our vibrant school community. Highlights include recap coverage of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, incredible achievements from Eagle Athletics, and a sneak peek at our upcoming school play and student opportunities related to college and career, graduation, picture retakes, and credit recovery.
Thank you for your partnership in nurturing our school community. Together, we keep our school safe and keep that hope alive for our students every single day.
Warmly,
Alexa

Comprehensive Sexuality Plan
Dear Families,
Our district provides Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) as part of our health education program. Instruction is age-appropriate and aligned with Oregon standards and focuses on helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and healthy decision-making habits they need to navigate relationships, personal safety, and health.
Families are encouraged to review the grade-level CSE topics and instructional materials available on our district website. Parents/guardians may request that their student be excused from specific CSE lessons or topics. If you would like your student to opt out of a particular lesson, please complete the opt-out form or submit a written request to your child’s school.
We value partnering with families and encourage you to reach out to your child’s school with any questions about the curriculum or the opt-out process.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students’ health, safety, and well-being.

Eagle Athletic Recap
Cross Country Starting to Roll
Our Centennial Cross Country team continues to put in the miles and hard work as they push toward earning a spot at the State Championships!
Throughout the season, our runners have continued to improve their times, challenge themselves, and support one another.
With the biggest meets of the season just around the corner, the Eagles are focused on finishing strong and putting themselves in position to qualify for State. Every second counts, and this group is ready to compete!
Keep pushing, Eagles! The finish line is in sight!
Eagles Varsity Football
This Friday our varsity football team put up a fight against the Gresham Gophers for their last varsity football game of the season. Thank you to all that came out to cheer on our team and celebrate our seniors.
Earlier in the week, we made a difficult decision regarding the remainder of our CHS Varsity football season. After evaluating our current roster, including some recent injuries, we made the decision to cancel our final two varsity football games. Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our student-athletes. Due to our current roster limitations, continuing the full varsity schedule would require asking younger, less experienced athletes to step into high-impact roles against older, more physically developed players. We will continue with our JV season, and will be working towards rebuilding for next year's season.
Eagle Girls Soccer
As our Centennial Girls Soccer team heads into the final games of conference play, the Eagles are looking to finish the season strong! This group has come a long way since the start of the season, building confidence, finding success on the field, and learning how to compete together.
After putting together an impressive three-game winning streak earlier in the season, the Eagles have shown what they are capable of when they play together. With the final conference games ahead, the focus is on finishing strong, competing for each other, and making the most of every opportunity.
Let's finish strong, Eagles!
Eagle Volleyball
Our Centennial Girls Volleyball program traveled to Hood River and came home with a FULL PROGRAM SWEEP!
Great job by all levels of our volleyball program for showing up, competing, and taking care of business on the road!
Way to go, Eagles! Keep it rolling!
Football - Cheer - Dance Senior night
What a great night celebrating our Football, Cheer, and Dance Seniors! It was a special evening recognizing these amazing student-athletes and all they have given to Centennial!
While the game didn't go our way, there were some great plays and moments to celebrate! A big shoutout to Shakespeare Ostin on an exciting touchdown run!
Thank you to all of our seniors for your hard work, dedication, and Eagle Pride! We appreciate everything you have done representing Centennial!
Eagle Boys Soccer
Our Centennial Boys Soccer team continues to show growth, determination, and teamwork this season. With some exciting performances, big goals, and players stepping up when needed, the Eagles have continued to compete and represent Centennial with pride.
The team has shown resilience and continues to build chemistry as they work their way through conference play, now ranked 6th in OSAA ready to make a playoff run
Keep working hard, Eagles
Hats off to Tony Koetje
Eagle fans, we want to take a moment to recognize someone who has been a big part of the Centennial Eagles Boys Soccer Program for the past 20 years!
Tony Koetje has dedicated two decades of his time, energy, and passion to our student-athletes and the Centennial community.
Over those 20 years, Tony has helped develop not only soccer players but young men, making a lasting impact on countless Eagles who have come through our program.
Tony, thank you for your dedication, commitment, and everything you have given to Centennial Boys Soccer.
Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!
Eagle fans, let's give Tony Koetje a big round of applause for 20 years of service to Centennial Athletics!
