Back to School Night Reminders
BTS Night is Thursday, Sept 5 5:30pm-6:30pm PK-2nd and 6:45pm-7:45pm 3rd-5th.
We are feeding you dinner so you have one less things to worry about on BTS Night! Via 313 Pizza, drinks, chips, and cookies will be provided in the staff lounge by 4:45pm.
1. This is your time to shine! Make sure families get to hear your story and get to know you! Please keep it positive and professional. Remember to smile and connect!
2. Teachers must have aligned information and present the same grade level information.
3. Info to share: School day schedule, grade level events and celebrations, school safety and protocols, enrichment fees (absence, volunteering, etc.)
4. Communicate the why behind some portions of enrichment fees so parents understand that it helps pay the salaries for our amazing enrichment programs on campus.
5. Remind families to pop into the counseling room, Maker Space, and Essential Areas classes (Art, Music, PE, Spanish)! Our team will be here to say hello and answer questions families may have.
6. Sped team will be on campus as well! If families want to pop into their Sped teacher's classrooms, we welcome that too!
7. A Maker Space/Cultural Studies video/slides will be shared with all teachers to embed into their BTS night presentation. Please make sure you share this with your families as part of your presentation.
PLCs Start Tuesday, Sept 3
PLCs are required by the school district and will start this week. Each team must hold at least 2 PLC meetings per week and complete the PLC agenda. This is a campus 'tight' expectation. Admin are expected by the district to visit your PLCs at least 1x weekly. If your assigned admin is not available, we will work to ensure someone is filling in.
Please speak up if you need support with PLC on your team. We have some great PLC structures around campus and your teammates would be happy to support.

MAP Growth Testing Window Opens Sept 3
MAP Growth Beginning of Year testing window is upon us. MAP testing in Reading and Math begins Sept 3 and testing closes Sept 20. This is an important assessment that the district takes as seriously as STAAR, informs interventions for MTSS, and is tied into the teacher incentive allotment program for some grade levels.

Teams should begin forming their plans for assessment and consulting with colleagues (Tiffany, Marcey, Sped teachers) on creating testing admin plans.
Team leaders need to notify admin team of the window for their grade level testing.
