Principal's Corner

Dear Families,

I hope you enjoyed time off and spent time with family. We are excited to begin the third nine weeks. We have seen a significant increase in absences with student attendance. I hope everyone is feeling better and we get back on track with making it to school on a daily basis. We have been rewarding classes for perfect attendance!

Please know that our doors are always open. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach us by email, or by calling the main office at (540) 834-4569.

Sincerely,

Scott Orth

News from your Counselors

Happy New Year to all our wolves in our wolf pack. We hope you all had a happy and wonderful holiday! December was a busy month, and while we unfortunately could not make it into classrooms for SEL lessons, we were able to provide some holiday joy through our Angel Tree program . Cedar Forest was able to hand out gifts for over 100 students and their families and we could not be more thankful for everyone's support. It was a huge success and amazing to see the Cedar Forest community spread some cheer to others. We are looking forward to getting back into classrooms this month. Here's to having a wonderful, successful 2024.

News and Information from Nurse Potter

We had a rough start to the cold and flu season here at Cedar Forest. I know it is very important for all of us to be in school, but there are times when it is equally important to stay home so that we are not spreading illnesses to each other. I listed symptoms below to look out for. This is not a conclusive list, but reflective of the symptoms I am seeing most frequently in the clinic. As always you should contact your pediatrician, but if you have any questions please give me a call. I'm always happy to help.

Nurse Potter

* Fever higher than 100 degrees in the last 24 hours-MUST be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication prior to returning to school.

* Chills, body aches, headache, nausea.

* Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.

* Continuous Coughing

* Sore throat

* Ear pain

* Red eyes with discharge
