Monterey HS Band Summer Band 2026

We are VERY excited about the upcoming 2026-27 version of the Monterey HS "Swingin' Beat from 50th Street!" Most importantly, we are excited to see YOU on the field performing or in the stands cheering on your performer!

Marching Band is an exciting activity that will help you become the very best version of yourself! Performing in front of a packed stadium is a thrill unlike any other! You will also form friendships through performing that will last a lifetime!

Contained in this newsletter you will find the welcome letter we sent home. It outlines the three major pieces of information covered here: Physicals, the Calendar, and Remind.

Summer and After School activities and events are NOT OPTIONAL! If you have a conflict come up (and you will!) contact Mr. Gurley through SportsYou or Email BEFORE the conflict to excuse the absence. All we ask for is communication ahead of time!

ALL students need a new physical every year as required by LISD. If you did your physical on your home campus in the Spring of 2026 we should be able to access it already. If you need to have a new physical done by your physician you can download and print the forms attached here. You fill out the Medical History form, your physician will fill out and sign the Physical Examination form, and then you will bring BOTH forms to us. If you are also in Athletics, Pom, or Cheer you only need to do one physical per school year (we all use the same system to access the forms). You can turn in your forms to the coach of whichever activity starts first and you should be good to go.

Parents, you are ENCOURAGED to join any student list so you know what is going on, you'll want to know what time the bus gets in from that first football trip! As High School students, most of our communications are directed to them, but it is highly recommended that you follow those communications as well.
