KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION!

Do you live in Bath and have a child that will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall? If so, registration is now taking place for the 2023-2024 School Year.

Children entering Kindergarten must turn 5 years old on,

or before, October 15th, 2023 to be eligible.

To pre-register your child, please email secretary Katie Walker at kwalker@rsu1.org. Please put "K Registration" as the subject line. Once your child is on our incoming Kindergartner list, in April you will receive a welcome letter, full registration packet and information about the kindergarten screening.

**Students who are currently enrolled in the Dike-Newell, YMCA or Head Start CHOICES PreK program are automatically pre-registered for Kindergarten. **

Are You Moving?

If you will be moving and your child will NOT be returning to Dike-Newell School or attending 3rd grade at Fisher Mitchell School for the 2022-2023 school year, please contact Mrs. Walker at kwalker@rsu1.org in the main office to provide additional information.

Lines From the Library

Actors from the Library Acting Club performed their play, The Bremen Town Musicians, for the 1st grade students this week. Made up of 2nd grade students from Ms. Michaud's class, the actors worked hard to learn their lines and sacrificed many recesses to rehearse. Director, Ms. Hardman, hopes these actors will continue with their theater adventures as they definitely have a knack for it!

STEM City

On Thursday, April 6th, RSU 1 will be holding STEM City at Morse High School/Bath Tech, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Are you feeling festive? Come dressed as your favorite scientist, molecule, or math equation. Every student walking in the door can win a STEM prize for their class. This event is free for all and is designed primarily for PreK-8th grade, though the activities are also suitable for high school students.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Teaching STEM at the elementary level helps students develop basic skills that apply to many parts of life. It provides opportunities for students to practice critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration, as well as other skills.

Dike-Newell will be represented at the STEM Night, please be sure to attend to see what students have been doing. Next week in library classes students will find out how they can win some cool STEM related prizes.
