Van Nuys Middle School
August 5, 2024

🍂 Fall is in the air, and we’re already in Week 6 of the Fall Semester! Can you believe it? Last week, 5-week progress report cards were sent home, giving us a sneak peek into how our students are doing so far. There's still plenty of time to improve, so if your student is facing challenges, don’t hesitate to reach out! You can email teachers directly to set up a meeting and discuss how your child can succeed.
We also have after-school tutoring every day from 3:05-4:30 p.m., and Saturday School starts on Saturday, September 28, from 8 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. To sign up, contact Ms. Sandoval at (818) 267-5968 or via email at els2158@lausd.net.
Don’t forget to check your student’s Schoology daily to keep up with their schoolwork. If you need help with Schoology or the Parent Portal, Mrs. Ruiz, our Parent Representative, is here to help! You can reach her at (818) 267-5934.
📸 ID Picture Day is this Friday, September 20, 2024! All students must wear their uniforms, and if you’d like to purchase a picture packet, keep an eye out for information sent home.
This week, Mr. Horowitz, our Dean, will be hosting Mustang Method Assemblies during homeroom, reminding students to be kind, responsible, respectful, and safe. Plus, Ms. Romeo is visiting 8th-grade homerooms to go over 8th-grade Culmination Requirements. Be sure to check out the letter sent home in the newsletter!
As always, thank you for being the best families in the Valley.
And Remember Today is a Great Day to Be a Mustang!
