“Progressive improvement beats delayed perfection.”

-Mark Twain

Dear Brunswick Middle School Students, Parents and Guardians,

We have officially begun the second quarter of the school year! This is a great opportunity for students to reflect on their progress during the first quarter, celebrate their accomplishments, and think about what they can do to continue growing and improving.

First-quarter report cards are now available to view. Congratulations to all our students on their hard work and accomplishments! If you had a successful first quarter, keep up the great work. If your grades were not where you wanted them to be, remember that a new quarter brings a fresh start and an opportunity to make positive changes. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and work toward your goals. This past week we recognized our “Compass Award” recipients and their hard work demonstrating the competencies of “Journey of a Blue Devil.” We are proud of their hard work.

As we move through the second quarter, I encourage parents and guardians to continue checking in with their students about school, grades, and assignments. Staying organized, completing assignments on time, and asking for help when needed can make a significant difference in student success. Working together, we can help every student reach their full potential.

We have many exciting things happening throughout the school year, and we encourage all students to stay engaged, work hard, and always do their best. We look forward to seeing the progress and accomplishments our students will achieve during the second quarter.

Have a wonderful weekend and Go Blue Devils,

Adam Griffin, Principal

6th Grade Updates! 6th Grade Updates!

Our students had a wonderful experience at camp! It was rewarding to see them step outside their comfort zones, build friendships, work together, and create lasting memories. Experiences like these provide valuable opportunities for students to grow, develop independence, and learn in ways that extend beyond the classroom. We are grateful to everyone who helped make camp such a success and are excited that our students had this opportunity.

Our Student and Family Support Specialist, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), hosts a weekly open-style group focused on basic emotional regulation and social skills. Each week features a new topic and activity, and students can choose whether or not to participate on a week-to-week basis.

  • Flexible Participation: You and your student are able to decide week to week based on the activities if they would like to participate.

Our weekly drop-in skills group provides a welcoming, safe environment where students learn practical, real-world strategies for self-regulation and healthy social interaction.

What We Focus On:

  • Emotional Regulation: Easy-to-use techniques for calming anxiety, managing frustration, and recharging.

  • Social Communication: Practicing active listening, setting clear personal boundaries, and making meaningful peer connections.

  • Problem-Solving: Hands-on activities that build confidence, patience, and resilience.

No long-term commitment required—students are welcome to attend weekly. Help your student build tools that last a lifetime. Please fill out this form if you would like your student to attend this week.

Pickup and Drop off Procedures Pickup and Drop off Procedures

We would like to remind all families who utilize student pick-up and drop-off to please follow our established procedures. These guidelines are designed to keep our students and staff safe while helping traffic move smoothly and efficiently.

Students should not cross into the parking lot or be picked up or dropped off in parking spaces unless prior arrangements have been made with the school. Using designated areas helps reduce safety concerns and keeps the flow of traffic moving.

We also ask that students remain attentive and ready as vehicles arrive so they can enter or exit vehicles promptly. Parents and guardians should pull forward as far as possible in the designated pick-up and drop-off lane before loading or unloading students. Filling the lane from front to back allows us to safely accommodate more vehicles and significantly reduces congestion.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us make arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for everyone!
