On Monday, 4.7.25, all EC, Band, Orchestra, and Choir classes will start a 10-Day Challenge. Each day the teacher will take attendance and account for all the students who arrive to their class on time at 7:45 AM. If their class has 90% or greater present, the class gets a point. Once the class reaches 10 points, they get the reward. What's the reward? I'm glad you asked. The class picks the reward they want as a class. It could be free tech time, gym time, outdoor time, reading, social time, or a number of other choices the students want. Therefore, help your student meet the 10-Day Challenge by getting them to school by 7:30 so they are in class by 7:45 and help their class win the prize.

Starting on Monday, 4.14.25, we will initiate a new drop off procedure.

• Students arriving before 7:45 AM, will continue to drop off students on Briggs or Copperfield as usual. No changes to drop-off for parents who are on time.
• Students arriving after 7:45 AM must be signed in. Parents will be asked to enter the front driveway off Copperfield and park their car in our circle driveway, enter the building at Door #1, and sign in their student.

Why the change? For the safety of all our students, it is essential that they are accounted for and where they've been in the morning before entering school. A parent/guardian signing in their student lets us know that they were in their care and safe supervision. This also eliminates unnecessary calls to check on student's wearabouts prior to a late arrival. With this in place, parents/guardians can have peace of mind that their student is accounted for and assured they will get a call if they are not signed in.

Come out and support our District’s 10th annual Autism Awareness 5K Run/Walk on April 26, 2025 at Joliet Junior College. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. by the Event Center. A limited number of T-shirts will be available to purchase for $25.00 at the event.

Plan family vacations and doctor appointments on school holidays. Try not to schedule vacations and appointments on days when school is in session. Remember, even missing one or two days of school a month can add up quickly and cause your child to fall behind on the lessons being taught in class.

• 8th Grade Technology Accounts will be disabled on Friday, June 13, 2025.
• 8th Grade Students are encouraged to use Google Takeout to save files to a personal account before Friday, June 13, 2025.
• During the week of June 16, 2025, the District will begin releasing 8th grade graduate Chromebooks from our management system.
