A Note From The Principal

I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready for a normal school week: I know I am!

Author Visit

Our visit with authors Brian “Smitty” Smith and Chris Giarrusso for grades 1st-4th is finally happening this Wednesday.

Planning for Next Year- ACTION NEEDED

We are currently in the early stages of planning for next school year. In doing so, we need to have an accurate count of the number of students who are planning to return to Easley for the 2026-2027 school year. Accurate student numbers will ensure that we do not lose teaching staff and instructional positions; your participation in this brief survey is essential! We have also included a section for you to provide any information you think we need to know about your child when making class placements for next year. Please do not make requests for specific teachers. The only exception is if an older child had a teacher and you would like us to consider placing the sibling with the same teacher, or not. We do our best to honor sibling requests, but please know there is no guarantee as we have a very involved process for creating classroom rosters. Please complete this survey by Friday, February 28. Thank you!

****Please note this is your opportunity to provide input for next year's class placement. This includes anything you would like me to consider when placing students in classrooms. Information emailed or sent outside this survey runs the risk of not being considered when making classroom placements, as this will be what I am using.****

Black History Month Read-In

Next week, we will host our Black History Month read-in, similar to what we did for Hispanic Heritage Month in October. We look forward to celebrating this month with guest readers and wonderful literature!. You can either bring a book of your own or select from the robust selection in the media center. Check out this collection to preview our titles. We are allotting 20 minutes for a read-aloud. Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email from Ms. Hartley with more information. Thank you for considering this wonderful opportunity.

Here is how to sign up:

Look HERE for classroom teachers' open times. Then contact caroline_hartley@dpsnc.net (or message on Rooms) with your preferred teacher, date, and time. As teachers are matched with a reader, their names will have a strikethrough. If you have any questions, contact caroline_hartley@dpsnc.net.
