Summer Update

Hello,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in the last full week of July! We hope you're having an enjoyable summer—finding time to relax, recharge, and enjoy your favorite interests and activities. As we shift our focus toward the upcoming 2025–2026 school year, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back soon!

Below, you’ll find important updates on a variety of topics. Please note this is not a comprehensive list and another newsletter will be shared as we get closer to the start of the school year.

On Tuesday, July 29th, LAHS athletics will be offering free physicals from 8:00-9:30 AM. Students must be in the building before 9:30 to ensure that they can get their physical. Each student-athlete must have a completed sports physical and a base activity fee as well as a sport fee paid prior to the first competition. Students must have a physical completed by an authorized medical examiner and must be dated no earlier than May 1, 2025.

On Tuesday, July 29th at 7:00 PM in the Lewisburg High School Auditorium, there is a parent/athlete meeting scheduled for all fall sports. Following the meeting in the auditorium, there will be individual sport meetings with the individual sport coaches to review specific details of the sport.

You can pay your activity fee and sport fee using the school's website link. You can then complete that for all of the children in your family. Checks should be made payable to Lewisburg Area School District. If you’re not sure if you’ve paid already, please call the Athletic Office.

Laptop Distribution Dates for LAHS Students will occur on the following dates:

• Tuesday, July 29: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
• Wednesday, August 6: 3:00 - 5:00 PM
• Tuesday, August 12: 3:00 - 5:00 PM

Students who are not able to attend one of the dates listed above will receive their laptop on the first day of school.

The link provided here is to pay for the Technology Protection Plan or to waive the protection plan for your student's school issued device.

This event is for students and families who are new to Lewisburg Area School District. We will provide an overview of our bell schedule, provide student schedules/work to make student schedules, provide a tour of the building that includes your specific classrooms and your locker. Additionally, we will answer all your questions to support the transition to Lewisburg Area School District.

Our Link Leaders are excited to welcome our 9th graders to LAHS. All 9th graders are invited to join them from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM to get a head start on the year and become more familiar with the high school. This is a really valuable experience for our students and we love the opportunity that it provides to our new 9th grade students. Additionally, Link Leaders will be available during the first several days to assist with anything a student needs and will be available periodically throughout the year.

Please look for an additional school messenger with more detail for 9th grade student orientation.

Each year, we require families to complete annual updates in PowerSchool. The updates ensure that your information is correct and this is an opportunity for you to approve yearly agreements (student handbook, acceptable use policies, etc.) The school district will be mailing this information on Wednesday, July 30th, so you should receive it in the mailing soon after that date.

Once the information is completed online, please wait up to 3 business days before trying to gain access to PowerSchool. Our administrative assistants must go through and approve the submitted information. Upon approval of the submitted information, students and guardians will be able to see their student's schedule.

The portal for student and parent access will be viewable Tuesday, August 5, if the updates have been completed.

We will make every effort to fulfill students' schedule requests. Unfortunately, we are not always able to fulfill the request because the course conflicts with another class or there are no more available seats. On Wednesday, August 6, we will send out the schedule change request form for students would like to make changes.

Course requests will be completed in the following order:

• Students who are missing a grade-level graduation requirement/core class
• Students who wish to drop a course with no replacement
• Students who do not have a minimum of 7 credits (6.75 for Seniors)
• Students who wish to add a course AND have the availability within their current schedule to accommodate it. (Order Grade 12, 11, 10, 9)

Blank spaces in periods 1-8 will be study halls.

Courses will not be changed out of a preference for a different time or teacher.

Please complete the Google form listed below if you are eligible and plan on driving to school beginning on the 1st day of school. If you are not able to drive yet, you must wait to complete the form once you are able to drive to school. Parking permit hangers will be issued from the main office once this form has been completed.

You can pick up your parking tag in the main office starting on Monday, August 11.

There is no fee at the time of registration for the 2025-2026 school year. We will be issuing parking spots in the order we receive the completed form based on the designated parking lot. Seniors will be parking in the front parking lot. Juniors will have some spaces in the front lot and the remaining spaces in the back parking lot. All other students will be parking in the back parking lot. The front parking lot will be numbered in the 100's and the back parking lot will be numbered in the 300's.

By completing this form you are agreeing to the Parking and Driving to School guidelines outlined in the Student Handbook. Driving to school is a privilege. If at any time during the year your vehicle changes, please let us know in the main office.
