The Riverwalk Roar
The Riverwalk Roar: May, 18th 2025
A Note from Dr. Compton
Happy Sunday, Pride!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful weekend. My family and I spent a few days in Murrells Inlet celebrating Maggie—my youngest daughter’s 15th birthday. It was great to get away and recharge, especially with such a busy week ahead. The highlight? Our fourth graduation ceremony.
To date, 60 students have officially become Riverwalk Academy alumni. This Thursday, we’ll proudly welcome another 33 students to that growing group.

Three of the students listed above have been with Riverwalk Academy since we first opened our doors in August 2014. An additional six students joined shortly before I did, back in September 2017.
Two of our seniors have signed their National Letters of Intent to continue playing sports at the collegiate level—an incredible achievement.
And two of these graduates have technically already crossed the finish line, having completed their high school requirements early and graduated in December.
Of the 33 graduates, 15 have been accepted into a 4 year college, and 10 are planning on continuing their education by attending a two-year college. Eight are planning on entering the workforce after graduation. And collectively, the Class of 2025 has been offered close to $250,000 in college scholarships.
As we head into this milestone week, I want to thank each of you—our families, staff, and community—for the unwavering support you’ve shown our students along their journey. Graduation is more than just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of years of growth, resilience, and hard work.
I look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday as we honor the Class of 2025. Let’s send them off with the same love and encouragement that’s carried them this far.
Here’s to a great week ahead, and as always, thank you for being part of our Pride.
In Pride and Purpose,
~Dr. Compton
