Fremont MS Family Newsletter
Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
With the changing weather, it can be easy to lose momentum. But April is a key time for progress and growth. Help your child stay in the rhythm of learning by showing up each day ready to participateโunless they are truly sick and need to stay home.
We have a few more days of IAR testing this week. Please read below for more information and our daily schedules.
Students will also have the opportunity to watch Wipeout! this year's musical, directed by Mrs. Stacey Begg, and assistant directed by Mrs. Liz Russell. There is also a performance open to the public on Friday, April 10th beginning at 6:30 pm in the MS Big Gym. Entrance is $5.00 at the door. Break a leg to all cast and crew!
Warm Regards,
Emily Loerakker
Fremont MS Principal

Illinois Assessment of Readiness
Students in grades 3-8 will complete the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) this spring on April 7, April 9, and April 10th. We have Reading and any make-up sessions for absences left to go!
The IAR asks students to demonstrate and apply their knowledge and skills, rather than reciting facts. The test is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards for English language arts and math; the IAR measures studentsโ problem-solving, critical thinking, and writing skills. These skills are essential for students to stay on track for college and career readiness after high school.
Please see this week's special schedules below, due to IAR testing, and the Musical.
Please be sure your student gets a good night's sleep, has some breakfast, and also comes with a charged device, wired headphones, pencils, and a book to read when finished with the IAR testing session. Please note, we have a limited amount of $1.00 and $2.00 wired headphones available for purchase in the Den.
