Message From Mrs.Lucas, BHS Principal
Hello Bobcat Families,
Today’s message includes a few helpful reminders, upcoming events, and my Tip of the Week.
ParentVUE: ParentVUE is a convenient way to review your child’s current academic progress. If there are concerns, please reach out to the teacher(s) as a way to support your child's academic success.
Personal Devices: To support a focused learning environment and remain consistent with the Virginia Code and PWCS policy, please remind students that all personal devices must be turned off and put away from 7:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. Meta glasses must also be turned off during this time.
Khan Academy: Students have access to Khan Academy 24 hours a day. This valuable resource can help them build confidence as they learn new skills and concepts. It offers support in multiple content areas, including computing, economics and finance, and SAT/AP test preparation.
Lastly, this is a friendly reminder that there will be no school for students on Monday, October 12. Have a wonderful weekend!

CASIIT Out in the Community!
On September 29, two of our amazing CASIIT students joined me at the Prince William County Specialty Program Fair at the Hylton Center to represent Battlefield and share all that CASIIT has to offer. Our students did an outstanding job “selling” the program, speaking confidently with interested students and families and sharing their enthusiasm for their CASIIT experience. It was wonderful to see them take pride in their program while helping future students learn what makes CASIIT such a special part of Battlefield!
Catch us here each week in the CASIIT Corner as we highlight different aspects of the program, celebrate student accomplishments, and share the many opportunities available through Battlefield's premier specialty program!
PSAT Test Is This Week
9th – 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, 10/14/2026, from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Seniors will have an asynchronous virtual learning day. To be ready, students should: • check their school email for their assigned testing location • be on time that morning to ensure they will be able to test • come with a fully charged iPad • bring water and a NUT-FREE snack Please Note: Early dismissal is not permitted during the testing window.

🐾🏃♀️ That’s a wrap on the 2nd Annual Claws & Paws 5K!
A huge thank you to our Battlefield Student Leadership students for planning an incredible event and to the students and volunteers who helped make the day a success. Despite the cold rain, our runners and walkers showed up in support of our Battlefield community. We're also grateful to our generous sponsors, whose contributions provided more than $1,000 in prizes. Way to go, Bobcats! 🐾💜🖤

Any items remaining in Lost & Found after October 30 will be donated, so stop by soon to see if your missing belongings are waiting for you!
🐾 Bobcat Parent Tip: Easy Early Dismissals
Need to pick up your student early? The process is quick and convenient!
Simply email bfhs-attendance@pwcs.edu with your student's name, the reason for the early dismissal, and the requested dismissal time. Once your request is received, both you and your student will receive an email confirmation.
Your student can then show the dismissal pass to their teacher and meet you at the curb at the designated time. There's no need to come into the school, making the process faster and more convenient for everyone! 🐾
