Dear School #6 Families,

As we enter November, I would like to thank our students, families, and staff for their continued support in making School #6 a positive and welcoming place to learn. November is a wonderful time to reflect on the importance of gratitude, kindness, and giving back to our community.

I would like to share a few exciting updates and upcoming initiatives:

  • Perfect Attendance Recognition: Students who achieved perfect attendance during September and October will be rewarded with an extra recess period! Our next attendance recognition period will be November and December, giving all students another opportunity to earn this special reward. Remember, being in school and on time every day is important!

  • Trunk-or-Treat Appreciation: A special thank you to all School #6 families for your generous candy donations for our Trunk-or-Treat celebration. Your kindness and support helped make this event a memorable experience for our students!

  • Sixers of the Month: We are excited to recognize our Sixers of the Month! Each classroom has selected a student who consistently demonstrates positive character traits such as kindness, respect, responsibility, perseverance, and being a good friend and classmate. This initiative celebrates students who help make School #6 a great place to learn and grow.

  • School #6 Food Drive (November 2–19): From November 2 through November 19, we will be collecting canned and nonperishable packaged food items to support families in need throughout the Garfield community. We encourage all families who are able to participate in this meaningful effort to help those less fortunate during the holiday season.

As we approach Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for our dedicated staff, wonderful students, and supportive families. By working together, we continue to build a school community centered on respect, responsibility, kindness, and school pride.

Wishing all our School #6 families a happy, healthy November, and a peaceful Thanksgiving!

Warm Regards,

Mr. Annibal

Hello Everyone!

It is hard to believe that the month of October has come and gone.... so many fun activities have taken place at our school, and the weather has been absolutely perfect for our friends to be outside and enjoy the fresh air!🌳😎

Most importantly, our School 6 community has helped put together our globe project for Unity Day, which was on October 21st. Each student and teacher traced and decorated their hand, and a group of our 5th graders helped me put it all together. Our Unity Globe is now displayed in our school lobby for all to see...."The Whole World is in our Hands at School 6"🌍💜

We also have our "Respect Week Banner" which was signed by every student and staff member at School 6, reminding us that "United We stand, Hand in Hand at School 6." Here are three of our 2nd graders taking a picture with the banner.

Also "Mrs. Buscio's Certificate of Kindness Wall of Fame" has grown, which means there has been lots of Kindness and good deeds happening at our school 🙂 Always wonderful to hear and see!

Have a great four day weekend, sending hugs & sunshine your way,

💛Mrs. Buscio💛
